2015 Acura RDX Navigation Problems

We recently bought a 2015 RDX with the technology package and horribly disappointed with the navigation system performance and usability. I have taken the car back to the dealer already once since I was not able to scroll down and look at my recent destinations on the list ( shows the first 6 and then no more). Funny enough there have been times I have been driving and it shows the list beyond the first 6 or so. Over the weekend - the entire system just froze when I clicked on Destination and then recent destinations. The screen was completely grayed out. I have taken a video of that and shown to my dealer this morning - he was in some disbelief till he saw the video.

Has anyone experienced similar issues? The dealer said that the only way they will be able to fix this is by calling west coast Acura Tech Support and hoping that other people have experienced this. If not, he said his options are limited.

Brand new car and limited options? Unbelievable. I am still trying to adjust my wife to the air pocket issue in the car in which I have to slam the door or open another door to close the first or leave a window open to close the first door - now this.

Any help appreciated

While driving it doesnt let you use the NAV or HFL manually. It's a pain I know. It forces you to use voice commands. Everything should work when you're stopped.

I've only used the nav once (to and from a restaurant I wasn't familiar with). The nav would have had me make a turn into a lake (very large retention pond) with 500 feet of turning. My trust factor on this is zero. We have a small plane with nav to take us where we want to go (works great) then rent a car when we get there. We use the nav on my wife's iphone and it has always worked great for us.

As to using voice commands on our 2016 RDX.... LOL! That doesn't work so well for me. I go to music search. I say "play rolling stones" and what do I get? Directions to the nearest grocery store (3 for 3 on this one. I shop there all the time and have yet to see Mick Jagger there). I say "list tracks" and what do I get? Fleetwood Mac. I think I'll pass on voice commands.

Agree - the NAV is not that great. About 10% of the time it can't find the street name at all, but when you are driving on that street, it shows the correct name. And the routing is truly idiotic once in a while.

Most commands can be performed by voice while driving. To scroll beyond the six displayed items, press the talk button and then say "Next" or "Down" (or "Up" to scroll back up).

The dealer is correct. His options are limited.

They either fix the nav or replace it (assuming it isn't user error). Two options. That's pretty limited.

because of the limited processing power......

Honda, like all auto manufactures, choose an infotainment system around an old out dated computer processor, which is likely proprietary.

cost is a big factor in choosing how the infotainment runs, and it looks like they simply cut corners to keep cost down.

Not a good time to buy a Honda product, seems as if they DONT care. at all
