Car not starting, battery good, VIDEO

2005 TL with 165K. New battery few months ago. Good voltage on the clamps of the terminals. I cleaned and re-tightened the terminals as well. I tried jumping off as well to no avail.

All signs point to starter but before I run up to Advance to put one on tonight (so my wife can get to work in the AM) I wanted to post a video to get any other opinions.

For reference I have done a little research, this thread in particular.

Video link - the click you hear is coming from the starter

I put on the old starter and it didn't crank the first time. Started the 2nd time. Didn't the third and has started every time since. I think the starter may be on the way out but I have been known to assume wrong many times. I guess we'll just keep driving it until it happens again unless there is something else it could be.

I would bet $5 that that's your starting relay.
of how to find it and test it. The reason I guess this is because the starter isn't even getting a signal. I want to replace mine as well just in case, but I don't have a part number off hand.

instead of replacing it, just re-solder the bad joints. saves moneys.

It's also known as the Main relay

Could it still be the relay if it is a problem that has only happened once so far?

Okay problem solved.

The starter was quickly going bad. The time Advance Auto Parts put it on their tester, it worked. But I usually got it to work 1 out of 3 tries, so I guess they got lucky. I purchased the rebuild starter (using the $40 off $100 code TRT41) and a relay. I tried the new relay first and had the same results. I then replaced the starter and it starts every time like butta. Case closed! Thanks and I hope this helps someone in the future.
