Tow hook

I was looking for a tow hook on the RDX we picked up yesterday.
I know what I am looking for is not really a "tow hook" in the Jeep sense of the word, but a loop often used for shipping the car.
Anyhow, I've always used them to pull a stuck a car and I don't see anything at all on the RDX to help with that. (Well, it was a cursory inspection outside and looking through the owners manual.)

The actual hook should be with your spare tire kit.

There is a hook/loop under the drivers side front, past the bumper.

Are we talking about tie-down hooks, folks? In my past vehicles, using a tie-down hook as a towing attachment was expressly 'discouraged'.

Update

Sorry for the delay. I'm not the primary driver of the RDX and most of the time I see it, it's already dark out.

CharlieZ, found the hook in the front.

princelybug, did not find anything the in the toolkit. You mean the equipment in the back with the spare tire? I just have a jack under the spare, and a two piece jack handle in the black styrofoam. That's how my Porsche handles this; it has a screw-in hook that attaches to either the front or the rear through a push-out circular piece in the bumpers.

I called the service department and they were no help.

I did see a black crossmember in the rear that perhaps I could wrap with a line if needed. The service dept. wouldn't comment on whether it was strong enough to use for anything. I took a picture of it but I'm having trouble transferring it to this MacBook. Anyhow it's black with two shiny bolts visible.

I guess this is all the pre-planning I can do, I'll try to post more information if I get some.

There is a loop underneath at the front as others have mentioned.

To pull my RDX out of a ditch recenty I hooked onto the rear suspension arm and the local snow plough pulled me out with his F150.

And this is what happens when you overload the tie down hooks.

Realized today how helpful tow hooks would be if I put a canoe (or ladder) on the roof rack...

On page 239 of the owners manual, at the bottom:
If You Get Stuck... If you are unable to free yourself, your vehicle will need to be towed. Front and rear tow hooks are provided for this purpose.

So... My theory is that the rear hook was deleted at some point and the owners manual is inaccurate.
