Was fishung and had my keys in my surf bag. The key works but am getting a message it needs a battery. I have the keys in rice. I want to program a third key is this easy to do?

 

I think that requires a dealership visit. That will be quite expensive too.

 

Ok so probably best bet is to try to dry it out. Does anyone know how to replace the battery on these remote? I am going to let it soak in silicon gel in a bag and then replace the battery.

anyone ever replace the case? My case is beat was trying to fin instructions.

 

Come on dude. It is as easy as changing battery in your phone. Just push the tab to unlock position and use the metal part of key to wedge it open. There are some design variations too so you may check some you tube videos as well. It's better to do it yourself properly the first time since you have to keep doing it every year or so for the lifetime of this vehicle.

 

My question is the key cases that are on ebay, is it easy to take the electronics and guts from my remote control and transfer them to a new case? they sell them on Ebay

 

Can you post a link to the cases you are referring to please. In theory the guts should be transferable. The OEM case is of crappy quality anyway. Many of us would like to swap if possible. Thanks.

Thanks. That looks like it has the same OEM crappy quality. Which means that in another couple of years this will look the same as my current key . I was wondering if anyone had been able to swap the internals / guts I to a 2016 RDX key. If that is possible I would do it in a heartbeat.

 

Want to replace it with the same crappy case lol. Is that easy? Since it is alot cheaper than buying a new key

 

I think you didn't understand me correctly. The 2016 RDX has a better made key which is quite different from the 2013-15 key. I was wondering if it's possible to fit the internals of. 2013-15 key to a 2016 outer shell. If possible , that would be a worthwhile mod in my opinion.
