I think it looks great without one!

Although I think it looks fine without one, I wanted a little bit of protection so that the edges of the license plate would not scratch the finish. I found a very minimalist one at Pep Boys. It's just a thin rubbery one that stretches over the edges of the license plate. It was only $4.99. If anyone is interested, the Pep Boys part number is WL170E1 and the SKU is 714679.

Nice pick in color. I believe you are the 2nd person on the forum to get the Kona coffee. I love mine.

As for the frame, I got this one from Amazon,
Amazon.com: Polished Mirror Bright License Plate Frame 4 Holes: Automotive Amazon.com: Polished Mirror Bright License Plate Frame 4 Holes: Automotive

It is a bit expensive due to the shipping, but it makes the color pop.

I like it without one. If you are concerned about the paint finish, just bend the license plate a little so it doesnt rub

it doesnt touch or scratch unless you have a giant subwoofer!!

Watch out for your first Door ding tho.
it will happen eventually, and you cant "bubble wrap" your doors.

I have foam rings attached to the licence plate that prevents damage to the paint. Neither the plate or the plate frame touch the vehicle.

I bought a polished stainless steel frame ($14 ebay) with an etched "ACURA" on the bottom.
Satisfied so far except stainless steel is slightly more "yellow" than chrome so it doesn't perfectly match the chrome bar above it.

Then I searched for a chrome lic plate, but because its chrome none had the etched Acura on it, just the black painted one which to me looks cheap and a bit "over", so for now I'm sticking with what I have.

Behind the lic plate I attached black rubber pads on all four corners to ensure no scratches or rattles were possible.

Thanks for that tip. I don't mind the 'free' dealer frame of skinny 'chrome'; but the small black outline on our white Texas tag on the white RDX might look sharp

I dunno.. I like my chrome one on the S... it goes well with the chrome strip on top.. I believe the RDX has a chrome strip as well.

Slighty Off Topic but Relevant Nontheless

A slight lane veer folks but here in Tejas if you cover your plate w/ ANY type of cover (clear as well) it give's LE probable cause for a traffic stop. Not speaking of frames here but I work w/ + am personal friends w/ a DPS trooper & have seen him use this (a clear cover) to initiate traffic stops.

You may only receive a warning but do you really have the extra time factored into your detination for a 5min delay? Now if you have other issues after the initial stop, well that can be a REAL game changer. The PC also applies to out of state vehicles passing thru here & what might your home state rules/regs. be, so something else to think about.

Sorry for the thread derailment but after seeing the clear plate covers I wanted to share this, now back on topic.

My neighbor is correct; although we hear braggarts telling of driving for a decade with a smoke tinted cover front and rear as well as a frame that obscures WAY more of the plate than it should. We don't have county or date stickers on the plates, so a little leeway is justified for the frame, but I really don't like those covers that virtually hide the plate number.
