RDX buyers remorse?

RDX buyers remorse?
I'm in the market for a new vehicle and a 2014 AWD RDX is looking like a pretty good prospect. For those of you who have some time in the saddle, would you do it over again if you had the chance? Thanks for your thoughts.

We have a 2013 RDX base and we would buy it again. Reasons: Good price for the quality level. Enuf power for its size. Handles well and good visibility. Reasonably comfortable seats tho passenger seat is too low. Good size for large items with seats folded down. Comfortable back seat. Good AC and heat. Decent radio. Memory seating for 2, we need this as we share it.

No remorse whatsoever. I agree with Tex...it's a great car and fits our needs just fine.

No remorse at all. It does everything I've asked it to do. Getting 23 MPG overall mostly commuting in the middle of rush hour traffic. Seats are very comfortable. Quicker than I thought. Couple service issues but the dealer has been good (except the hands free thing, which is really nothing at all in the ig picture). If the money makes sense for you it's a great option.

Thanks for your thoughts. It will be more $$ than I'd really like to spend but I generally buy cars and keep them until they really die so the upcharge over a CRV or CX-5 would be spread out over 10 years or so and I am confident I will appreciate the refinement all of that time. That being said I don't see that going to a Q5 or X3 would get me much other than a bigger payment.
I've not been snooping the forums long but it seems vibration issues are a popular topic, both tire/wheel balance issues and then something as best I can tell is a transmission/MMV issue. Are they really that common and if they are, are they really a big deal?
Thanks again!

When I had my BMW, I was fortunate to have more time driving the Mini loaner they gave me - 61 days to be precise.
In the big scheme of things, the problems here are insignificant. You can drive this thing until you get tired of it or a couple of hundred thousand miles - whichever comes first - without any major issues.
Or, you could drive your BMW 2838 trouble free miles before the first of 4 high pressure fuel pumps went south.

Love the car ... the only thing I keep scratching my head is fuel consumption. We are getting around 16 mpg now ... we are in burbs of chicago, car is 7 months old with just over 6K miles.. I am hoping that the winter fuel mix and really cold winter (today -10 windchill) has something to do ... hoping for better in the spring ... Like in 20s ...

No remorse at all...I have the 2014 AWD Tech with just shy of 12,000 miles. I commute via interstate and average 27.5 mpg and 25.5 with snow tires on. I find the handling in snow is far better than the previous 2008 & 2010 models that I had. I do run mid-grade fuel and not regular as my salesman proudly pushed. I tried a few times but lose about 3-5 mpg. My fuel savings is also pretty significant over my previous models. I've had zero issues with this car and continue to be a very happy Acura RDX owner. Good luck.

No remorse at all either...I am getting great mileage (8-8.5l/100km), amazing power, smooth ride, decent equipments for the price. There are a few weakness such as the lack of height adjustments on the passenger side, and a few known and unresolved issues such as the rear shocks but overall, a very good vehicle.

I am very happy with mine and have no desire to dump it. Its on a 3 yr lease and I think I will still like it at the end of the lease. It does everything very well.

Sorry to be Johnny Raincloud over here but I have some remorse. Heck, my RDX is at the dealer service as we speak. They've had it since yesterday. Latest problem is a crooked steering wheel.
This is about the 8th or 9th time leaving it at service since I bought the car 15 months ago. And I'm not counting regular maintanence.
Anyone wanna trade RDX's with me?

FishX - I am also in the Chicago 'burbs. Do you have a particular dealer you'd recommend or recommend steering clear of? Most of the stores in the western 'burbs are about the same travel time for me and I currently have no loyalty to one. Thanks

It's funny you should say this. After having read your list of complaints and general unhappiness with the RDX in a nearby thread, I was wondering why you haven't traded it on something else.

Having not purchased an RDX yet, but very close and test driven it a few times. I've assessed what I need and want in a car and know I would not regret it. Sure, would be nice to have more features, but I don't need them. If I decide later that I really wished I had a certain feature - by the time I make my next purchase I will be sure to get it. And by then there'll probably be some other cutting edge feature that I will wish I had. It's a vicious cycle with any major purchase.
If you do your research and test drive / compare various vehicles, you should be happy with your end purchase. If you didn't, or are impulsive, then you'll most likely have remorse. And if you settled, eventually you'll probably find something you 'wish you had'.
But then again, there will always be those who will always find something wrong with anything. So they may not regret their purchase, they will just always have something to complain about. I'm sure we all know a person or two like this.

I've planned on replacing it for a few months now. I pre-ordered a car that's not available till May, so I'll be with the RDX until then. Not sure if I'll be trading or selling or keeping the RDX. It depends on it's value in May. Car values drop steep the first year.

Had ours over a year now and just passed 20,000 miles. No regrets at all, love the car. Very comfortable with great gas mileage. Minor issue (new propeller shaft - which took care of the slight vibration I was getting during certain driving conditions).

Curious to know what you pre-ordered?

My Wife loves ours so far (she's the primary driver of the RDX). The only downside to the vehicle I've found (after just over a year) is I wish the cargo compartment behind the rear seats was larger. I still drive an 01' Durango with tons of space, but when we get rid of it I'll miss the capability it's larger size brings. Of course, it's larger size comes with the cost of not so great fuel economy.

Leaving the XC60 meant leaving the turbo, rear vents, 12v outlet in the back, flat cargo deck and all the City-safe stuff behind. But, at this price point, I'd rather have build quality and dependability vs bells and whistles. I believe the RDX offers that. Along with spirited performance and very acceptable mileage, this vehicle offers plenty. Honestly, it isn't spectacular at any one thing; but it performs well at many things.
No remorse here.(Or post-purchase dissonance as we called it 40 years ago in marketing class).

Congrats!
Totally agree. MDX sounds awesome if we had the extra 10k to burn but we're still DINKs so we really don't need it.

Wish Acura would produce an MDX without the third row seat (make it an option). Knocking ~$1500 off the price for no third row would be about right.

No regrets, year old 33K, it does what I need it to do, very comfortable, good power, pretty good economy, if I have to be picky it is a bit of a Ho-hum ride, but for me comfort & reliability are most important.

Yes re. Additional Macan Feedback + No Regrets Here
ottoman WX beat me to it but yes DO update us, not only w/ color etc. but your option choices as well.
My selfish reason for asking is, if the S & turbo were not the only models offered this year, I would be right there w/ you.
As it stands, I am 50/50 today on keeping my '13 RDX w/ tech (now w/ 20,750) vs.
replacing it w/ the re-designed 2015 Q5 or waiting until 2015 for additional Macan models to come on line.
That said I have zero regrets w/ my RDX choice. Yes I would like more tech, a pano roof & some better lighting options. All things considered though, this has been a positive experience thus far & I would do it all over again even w/ the benefit of the hindsight I have now. As always YMMV applies here.

If you equip the Macan with the same package comparable to an RDX SH-AWD Tech model..it's $67k. From the side the Macan looks the same as the RDX.
Back on topic....we're on our 3rd RDX, the first one saved my g/f's life when she was hit head on offset at 40mph(so 80 closing speed) when some IDIOT bent over to pick up his dropped cell and drove right into her without any warning. The RDX did it's job and she walked away with bumps and bruises, so of course we bought another with the settlement check from the other driver's insurance.
That one lasted with zero issues until we traded it last month for a new '14. Nope no remorse at all.

lumpulus...For all our little insignificant reasons why we may or may not like our RDX, you sure are speaking from a perspective that we enthusiast often take for granted....the safety that Acura brings to our loved ones.
I am delighted to see that your precious cargo was safe.....vehicles can be replaced, the ones we love has no price. Thanks for sharing your story....

There will be a cheaper Macan base model coming in the fall, then possibly a high end GTS version after. Check out www.macanforum.com. They talk about everything there.

And we really haven't missed the additional space from the MDX all that much, and if push comes to shove we have a cargo carrier we can use if need be (after adding roof rails). The better gas mileage and the easier parking were worth the trade-off. On Friday we traded in our 2011 RDX for a 2014 and life just keeps getting better. No regrets yet!
