when changing battery, accidentally one plastic battery terminal cap went inside the duct ( circled in red in the picture ) Is that something to be concerned about. I don’t know how to get it out.
Not a big deal. Your air filter will stop anything from getting into the engine. Next time you change your air filter, you'll probably be able to find it at the bottom of the airbox.

Does it NOT make sense to have a screen on that intake or what??
That would cost money and in high volume production that money adds up real quick. Interesting to note, I had a 2008 Audi A4 that did have a screen on the intake duct.

That air inlet has a bend in the bottom to capture moisture as it travels down-over-up to below the air filter. Find someone with a skinny arm and small hand to explore that inlet tube before you take out the battery and start disassembly. At least your engine compartment is clean. No chance of that part doing any damage.. Whenever I wash an engine I push small towel into that inlet to keep the water out. I am an avid engine washer but now with electronics and all the connectors under the hood I have to be super selective on what to spray.
