Power Window Lock Switch Illuminates without being pushed-in

And so the windows are locked and cannot be opened/closed except for the driver's window while this happens. Sometimes the illumination goes away and the windows are then accessible, but most of the times the problem exists. It just started to happen recently. I am wondering if this has anything to do with me replacing the rear driver side window's motor assembly with an aftermarket one, or just a malfunctioning lock switch. The problem appeared a while after I made that repair. My RDX is 2013. Couldn't find any similar problem mentioned in the forum. Any ideas anyone?

This is unrelated with replacin power window regulator. The power window master switch needs to be disassembled and cleaned or replaced with a new or used OEM one.

Yeah probably that's what I need to do, I am surprised however that the switch can go bad without ever using it. I hardly ever had kids in the car since I bought it so the lock switch wasn't really used more than a few times. In any case will disassemble and look at it.

Well, this ain't no simple switch!. The mechanics are, but that's about it, the rest is like a darn micro computer on an armrest!.. No easy way to diagnose it with my rather limited electronics knowledge. The mechanics seem to be OK, no corrosion or damage at the contacts and the switch itself works correctly when pushed in or out, so there must be some electronics issue and it looks like I would have to either replace the PCB (or more likely the whole window/door lock assembly) and cross my fingers that the problem will be gone. The other option is to somehow find out how I can bypass that switch as I never need to lock the windows when I drive. Anyone have any ideas on bypassing that switch?

The only thing you can cheat with this system is the ability to use the rear switches, so you'll need a new master switch. But I'd try bending the mustache.

You could also try getting a replacement window switch and see if that's the issue. I'd use Amazon or someone else who would let you return it with no hassle if it ends up not fixing anything.

Hmmm, I should definitely try that before giving-up and buy a new master switch

Especially when a new OEM one is over $225 USD plus shipping (which is usually prohibitively expensive from US to Canada). Although our friends in China sell knock-offs on eBay for around $30-35 USD with free shipping, and for a 12 y/o RDX that may be the way to go.

There is always the option to buy used one.

True, but that's $126 CAD (with shipping) for a used one. After 12 years of ownership I have no problem purchasing after market parts. My most recent after market purchase was a brake caliper and it works fine. The previous one was an oxygen sensor and still works fine after 3 years. They may not be the same quality as the OEM but I am past worrying about that, however I appreciate you taking the time for sending me an example.

Unfortunately bending the "mustache" didn't help.
