Oil Life
Oil Life
I am just a little concerned from reading the forums about the oil life. Most have had their oil life last 5k or more miles. But my RDX is already at 15% at only 2600 miles. Should I be concerned? I drive in the city a lot but not in NYC where theres bumper to bumper traffic. The traffic I'm in is moderate. There just a lot of stop signs and traffic lights.
I had to change the oil at roughly the same mileage (driven mostly in the city) because it was at 40%. Maybe check your oil level because a good amount of oil can burn during the break in period. Low oil means decreased life of remaining oil.
Just change your oil when it tells you to.

The onboard computer calculates off of RPM's, engine start ups, and other factors.
so, if you're driving mainly city, with lots of stop and go, the oil life will decrease faster than if you drove ALL highway miles at 2k RPM.
