OEM winter mats

I just picked up my OEM winter mats for my 14 RDX. The drivers side fits real well, but the passenger side seems to have an area on the left side that is cut out and leaves the carpet exposed. It may not be a big deal but it seems stupid not to have this follow the floor contour and leave a bit of the carpet exposed. Anyone else notice this?

The driver's side is like this as well under the throttle. There is no wall per say, rather it's just like a regular rubber mat.

Yes, I noticed the same thing and wondered why they did that.

Go with Weathertech.

Great mats with high sides to protect the carpet by the door. Much better than OEM. I have them in both Bimmers and the RDX. We have a lot of slush here in the Winter.

I just recently purchased a set of OEM mats for my 2014 tech. They don't fit percfectly, but I liked the RDX letters on the mat. I know thats stupid, but that's me!

I 2nd the Weathertech mats. One of the 1st things I purchased for my RDX was Weathertechs. We already had a few inches of snow here in Pittsburgh and the weather forecast is showing more snow again this weekend. The hubby has OEM All-Season mats in his Accord and he is switching to Weathertechs.

Here's another vote for WeatherTech. I'm impressed with the fit in the RDX.

I find mine fit very well, and like you I like the RDX logo as well!

Weather Techs are a good option as well, However I generally prefer the look of OEM mats.

Thanks! I like the package. Mine was the showroom package that comprised of all mats, the running boards and the rails and cross bars.

The mats are a nice thick supple rubber and as you said, the white RDX logo is a nice touch!

Useful enough to minimize snow and mud spray on the side body without getting in the way of egress and ingress like most typical running boards on a normal height crossover. I actually like the cutaway design for this fact. It stays out of our ways but still allows stepping up on the rear to acces the roof box or for drying with a chamois. It was a top selling feature to us.

My OEM mats didn't fit well; on the driver's side, there was a flap along the left edge that caught my foot every time I stepped into the car.

Switched to WeatherTech - great fit, nice look - superior to OEM in my case.

A person can't go wrong with Weather Techs either

Anyone want to post a picture of their RDX Weather techs? I would not mind seeing a set in action.

Call me crazy, I'm actually looking forward to using the carpet mats in the summer

My OEM mats smell bad. I had to remove them in the spring because they stunk like melting tar/plastic. Now that its cold again they are okay and stink free. I should have waited for weather tech mats, but they weren't available before I bought my stock units.

Just a side note on weathertech ... I live close to their "factory outlet" in Bolingbrook Il.... the factory outlet is really like a small museum of vintage cars and motorocyles ... from what I heard, they belong to the CEO who does not mind "sharing"....top end presentation .. + free gourme coffee and cookies. If you are in the area, worth stopping by ...

The OEM mats don't seem to fit well in our RDX. The weathertechs fit like a glove in my Jetta. I should have went with my gut and went with weathertechs for the RDX. Maybe next winter.

The Weathertechs fit like a glove but there's one thing you need to watch for.
The retainers closest to the door opening are the lowest point of the liner and will channel water runoff straight to and thru the retainer opening and soaking the carpet underneath.
I ended up cutting up some ruber backed carpet runner to conform to the liner. This soaks up the water nicely and prevents any damage to the factory carpet.
I emailed Weathertech about this but never received a reply.
