Left wide view mirror

I tested this morning, if the car next lane about 3 ft behind head of my car, I can't see it in left mirror. So we need to look left front window when change lane.

It may be a bit tough to follow and you will hate it for about 1 week but it's far better than the way most people were taught about seeing the rear quarter panel in the mirror.

Even so it's no substitute for turning your head and looking. Always do that !

Yup, this is the way I do it. If you can see the side of your car with your side mirrors, then you need to angle it away from you more so that you see more of your blind spot.

Also try mounting an "autobahn" mirror, it mounts to the front windshield, works well, a little getting use to, but the advantage is eye's stay looking out the front, and it literally can show you what is sitting right beside you. Eliminates all doubt and has been working well for me. Griot's sells them, think it's also available on amazon.

It is a bit disconcerting not to have the 'side of the car' as a gauge for the position of the mirrors; but, unless you can't see a rear-view from the inside mirror, there really is no point in having half the vehicle visible in the outside mirrors(hard not to want to see the little doggie's face poking out of the rear window).

I think folks who sit very close to the steering wheel will find it more difficult to adjust the outside mirrors for the widest view...just not enough(too much) angle to offer both a rear-view and a 'blind-spot' view. Same for those who drive '70s style sporty cars with the mirrors way out on the front fender...you needed really good eyes to see ANYthing with those 'stylish' mirrors on the Euro sports cars like the Triumphs and Capris and MGs. In this case, the angle and distance don't allow for any sort of wide angle view.

I will say the little 'piece' of wide-angle surface on the RDX mirror is fairly useless. I've used 'add-on' wide angle mirrors on various vehicles over the years and the OEM RDX left-side mirror isn't even close.
