Interior lights do not work

Interior lights do not work

Bought a FWD w/ Tech the other day and I realized the next day that the interior lights do not come on when the door is opened. The ceiling light in the rear will also not come on when sliding the switch to "on".

Also, is there any lights in the front that should come on when the door is opened, i.e. map lights? The door lights do illuminate.

Am I missing something or do I need to go back to the dealer and have this looked at?

There should be 3 settings. "Off", "Door", and "On". Make sure all lights are set to "door". Also, Check to make sure its programmed correctly on your trip computer. Go to "Customize Settings" Refer to owner's manual if needed. If that doesn't work then call your dealer and they can take care of it for you. When the car arrives at the dealership from the factory, all lighting/electrical is off and disconnected, they may have forgotten to turn the interior lights on prior to delivery. I doubt the fuse is blown on a brand new car, lol.

OP, above the passenger seat, next to the sunroof controls is the switch. That was probably in the off position. It's a separate switch, i.e. not on the lights themselves.

Just saying....folks, this easy stuff is in the manual. Please take the time to look through it, you'll be amazed at what you might find out. I still haven't read it all yet....or the Nav. one.

Reading the manual can be a real PITA! BUT, if you download the pdf manuals, you can use the Adobe reader to search for words or phrases. Much easier.

I know Jim, I have it all downloaded in pdf files. It's whatever is easiest for each person....but, everyone has the Manual.....some may not be able to download those large pdf files. Just thinking.
