First door ding...
Got a small door ding on the right rear fender parked in a lot yesterday.
Of course, no one left a note - probably a kid opening the door on the car next to ours.
Anyway, has anyone ever tried, or know anyone who has had success using a heat gun then CO2 to remove dings? I've seen online videos where it's worked, but I'm very skeptical. I don't have a heat gun, but since it's something I've wanted to buy I was thinking this would be a good excuse to get one.

I suggest you use a professional PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) service. They work miracles.

As for the website, it's good to see there are other people as parking paranoid as me!
So, do they manipulate the dent from behind with a tool? The ding is dead center above the right rear tire where the fender mold line transitions from vertical to the slight curve.

Because of the location of the dent and the 2 1/2 hours of tapping and banging to fix it, the cost was $200. Well worth it, in my opinion. They usually set the price based on size, i.e. dime size, quarter size, etc and location on the car.
Mine was easy, since it was in the door. The guy lowered the window and put a tool in through the window slit. Yours might take a bit more time/effort.
I've had PDR done five or six times - couldn't stand to stick around to watch, and figured it might make the guy nervous (I sure was!). So I went inside, came back out when it was done and marveled at the miracle.
Door dings are one of my biggest worries on my new RDX....in fact I have dreams about getting them. I was offered insurance when I purchased the car but decided to work them one at a time on my own....so far so good. I am very aware where I park and don't mine walking a bit to get a good spot.
Door dings are inevitable, unfortunately...there are just some inconsiderate @$$holes out there. Plain and simple.
To the OP, as it has been suggested, there are many places that offer what is called a "paintless door repair". They will gently nudge the dent out from behind and it will look practically brand new so long as the paint is not gone. Usually after this is done, a quick buff and polish and you won't even know it was there.
Good luck.
