Just found out there is crack on the front left wheel liner which can generate noise when I make left turn. I also found out that the wheel liner came off from the clip on front left side(see the two photos attached). Here is my temporary fix. Does anyone experience this? We only drive on paved road and did not hit curbs or anything.
Hey, coincidentally I just replaced the splashguard/liner on my wife's RDX after an unfortunate roll of crawlspace matting flew off a truck in the middle of the highway.
After such, I inspected both liners. One was severely damaged, the other had minor damage. I ended up replacing the drivers side one.
To answer your question, no. Both were in good shape before the incident. That being said, your mileage and climate where you live will affect all shielding on your car. On my TL, stuff is starting to become dried out/brittle/cracked more often just due to it being old and having a quarter million miles on it.
In the event you want to replace it, I got the fender liner delivered to my local acura dealer (because who wants to pay for shipping) for 60 bucks. Thanks, TheSauceBoss! Ours is 2017 and only has 26k miles! We live in the south and it never happened to any of my other vehicles.
For what its worth, the new OEM wheel liner was much...thinner...than I thought it would be. It could just be the fact that the plastic is thin and cheap, prone to damage more on this car
