"Check Charging System" indicator light staying on
"Check Charging System" indicator light staying on
A few days ago I inadvertently left one of the overhead cabin lights in my 2013 Acura RDX on overnight. The car started up fine the next day with no warning/indicator lights coming on. I only drove it for a short distance that day. On the following day, however, the "Check Charging System" indicator light came on immediately after starting the car. I figured the car was just needing to be driven more to recharge the battery by the alternator. However, that indicator light has come on and stayed on for several days in a row now with each startup despite having driven the car for a total of at least a couple hours on the highway, during which I'd have thought the battery would have recharged itself. The little indicator "bubble" on the battery itself is showing green, so I'm guessing that the warning/indicator system isn't automatically resetting itself for some reason...? Does anyone know how to do this manually? I tried simply disconnecting briefly and reconnecting a battery terminal cable but that didn't effect a reset. Thanks greatly for any help.
