All Windows Opened

I have a 2013 AWD NAV. This afternoon I went into my garage to find all four windows all the way down, and the sunroof was all the way open. WTF???

Anyone have a clue?

Best regards, Jim

Wow good thing this happened at home.
In my '08 TL, you can open everything by double click and hold the unlock button. Might be the sane for the RDX? Maybe your keyfob got stuck with the button down as you were walking away from your car last. Or it could be a crazy wiring/short issue.

The key fob is smarter than you thought.

Demonstration: The 2014 Acura MDX Smart Key FobProctor AcuraTallahasseeFL

Either you pressed and held it, or another fob was in a drawer with something pressing on it.

Yep, double click and hold the unlock button. All windows and sunroof open. Almost as good as remote start on a hot day! However double click and holding the lock button does not close everything. Why Acura, why?

put your key into the door and twist to lock position and then hold it there it will roll up all the windows

edit: would be nicer to be able to do it away from the car but better than turning the car back on...

You have to press and hold the entire time to get the windows/sunroof to open all the way. I had to get a wall mount key holder and a cover for the FOBs to make sure I didn't do this again by leaving the keys in my pocket, wife's purse, or junk drawer for my TSX and MDX. My 08 RDX doesn't have this feature.

Agreed to all above. double click unlock and hold will do that.

KP Technologies has a module that will allow you to do this by double clicking lock and holding

it's in the owner's manual, I just wish there was a way to disable it via MID.

I've done something similar on our Volvo C70 when people are staring at it(It IS a good looking car ). Nice feature, especially if you can mess with a Bimmer owner

Are you sure you could do it on the second gen RDX? Because I've tried it on my car and it doesn't work. My friend's car also doesn't do it. I had some other (non Acura) cars which had this feature. I don't know whether you are talking about the TL. Can someone help in this matter. Thanks.

I don't own an RDX (or an Acura for that matter)... however here is a copy/paste from the owner's manual for the 2015 RDX (page 117):

--------------------------------------------------------------
Opening the Windows and Moonroof with the Remote

To open: Press the UNLOCK button twice
within 10 seconds and hold it down for the
second time. If the windows stop midway,
repeat the procedure.

Opening/Closing the Windows and Moonroof with the Key

To open: Unlock the driver’s door with the
key. Within 10 seconds of returning the key to
the central position, turn the key in the unlock
direction and hold it there.

To close: Lock the driver’s door with the key.
Within 10 seconds of returning the key to the
central position, turn the key in the lock
direction and hold it there.

Release the key to stop the windows/
moonroof at the desired position. If you want
further adjustment, repeat the same
operation.

Thank you for that information (and embarrassment to me) coming from a non RDX guy. I'll try it again and see what happens. May be I didn't go back to neutral position after unlocking it initially.

They don't let you remotely put them up since you could potentially kill a dog/infant since they can't confirm you're in viewing distance.
Thats why you can remotely go down and only up with the key standing in door.

ODDLY when dealer told me this in 2005 when i bought my tsx my first response was... so what if there is a dog in the car and the windows roll down wont he jump out..

Still no response... ten years later lol

Good one!
Or if it rains like hell all of a sudden and your sunroof is open, now you have to run outside to close it.

I still don't see the use for that feature, instead of spending money on useless crap, they should spend it where it matters, like an good back up camera...

That feature would have been OK if all was opened by one inch, that's all that's needed when it's hot.
