i was doing some research for a few years and i came up empty handed. This year i found out and stumbled upon AEM intake for a 2017 acura RDX. i looked it up and found out 2017 motor is the same as 2014 also same layout for the intake. so i went on eBay and bought a 2017 intake and i waited about a month since due to the COVID 19 it got delayed. I waited and it finally came and i installed it. fits just fine.
i had a K&N filter for a few years since that was the ONLY thing i could do. half way through to installing the AEM intake this is complete set up. i Left out the AEM sticker. if you live in cali you know why.
Do You feel a "seat of the pants" gain?Hard to imagine much gain for the $300 cost.I guess since i watched project farm on YouTube test air cleaner elements including K&N.The results were less than impressive, for the money.
Interesting that's cool!. I sure do feel a difference.I loss a bit low end torque but overall going on freeway its definitely a lot less restrictive. Power is noticeable of course there are more mods to do to make it better. its a start at least for me. There is some gains for sure.
I stumbled across the intake while I was looking up parts to add to my employers site. I remember when I first purchased the RDX I didn't recall finding anything, but for some reason I tried looking again last year and just checked every year model just in case. Through my work, I knew manufactures sometimes say a part may only fit one engine, or may only fit a later model even though the older ones are the same. Some times due to lack of testing, or sometimes lack of approval for emission testing, or simply low interest in the market.
That being said, sure enough I found that 2017 ONLY part number. And realized the inventory looked pretty low. Unfortunately it was difficult to acquire at the time in California, even as a shop for... reasons.
Another forum member, Jeckz, took a chance on it to see and sure enough it fit, I think now between these 2 threads AEM has sold 4 or 5 kits to 2Gen RDX Acurazine forum members. They are kinda fun frankly. Great seeing more interest in them!

AEM or any other pre-manufactured intake is a waste of money. almost 500 dollars for no gains.
if one wanted to gain power, one could make a 4" diameter tube intake for less than $500.
one could make it out out of PVC pipe or aluminium piping. there is also a brand called airaid that produces a 4" tube that you can cut to length.
Yeah i used an airaid kit for my 2016 ILX to make a bumper mounted snorkel to pipe air into the factory air box when there was no solution in May or so of 2015 when I bought the car. Later when AEM made an intake with an heat shield, I was able to keep my snorkel portion as it mounted to the same location AEM used as well.
As for the RDX, I would likely have done something similar and make something first, but it wouldn't really have done anything. What I was missing was the MAF sensor mount on a pipe. And since the AEM intake for the RDX is literally just that... a 6" section or so of pipe for a MAF sensor. I really cant complain. It really was exactly what I needed, just the silly little pipe w/ a MAF mount.
As a bit of an aside,
Really dont understand why some folks are so negative on others simply wanting to have some fun with their RDX and hear em more. If I wasn't happy about the mod, had a bunch of complaints, or felt it lost so much power its slow now, and not fun... I would have said something by now. I dont work for AEM, really dont care if they sell a million of these or not, its just fun to have and be a little different when tooting around town or ripping up a freeway on-ramp. I really just missed the sound and the genuine smile a fun driving experience can give me like I had back in my older B18C5 days. The 'feel' and experience of having fun while driving was what was missing for me, power be damned.
