New to rdx family, bought a new to me 2017 elite (advance in the USA).
On my 6th Acura. El>CL>El>Tsx>tlx> rdx
Today was the first time diving at night, had a truck behind me with hids (without the proper housing). Didn't notice my side mirrors dimming. When I got home. I held my cell phone camera light close to the mirror to confirm, and nothing. I tested rear view mirror and it did dim. Anyone know where the light sensor is for side view mirror. And or how else tk test.
alert, leather upholstery, and heatable rear outboard seats, whereas Elite trim includes these items as well as the 18-inch alloys mentioned before, fog lamps, auto-dimming side mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and the
it is standard feature on RDX with Advance package!
So how do you make sure it's working (or not) any light sensor? Rear view does turn dim. Sides, not so much. Would holding flashlight close to side mirror to activate dimming
I have three vehicles with auto-dim mirrors. My 06 Sienna XLE and 17 RDX Advance have auto-dim rear-view mirror and side mirrors while the 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited only has auto-dim rear-view mirror, not the sides. I also feel the rear-view mirror is a little bit dimmer than the side mirrors. Maybe it is because the rear view mirror is close to the driver? You can test it by blocking the sensor on the bottom of your rear view mirror.

seems like when the rear view mirror dims, so do side mirror. problem is the tint on the back window, doesn;t really trigger rear view dimming, thus side mirrors dont dim either.
My 2017 RDX Advance has auto dim rear/side mirrors. There might be slight differences between the Canadian Elite and US Advance. I remembered that the Elite has heated steering wheel, however the Advance doesn't.
i mean to say above the light sensor (for side and rearview mirrors) is on the rear view mirrow. however with the tint on the rear window. you will not see either of them dimming.
rdx elite doesn't have heated steering wheel in CANADA, it does however have heated rear seats.
