2016 RDX Tech - Adding LEDs
I have a 2016 RDX Tech addition. I work night shift and I live in northern Wyoming. I use my remote start every night all winter to warm my car before I leave in the mornings. However there are no indicators from the car that the engine is running. No lights come on when the car is started.
I am attempting to add an Led light to the front of my car to indicate when the motor is running. The LED light I have chosen will run directly from the battery and is made for 12 volt. I'm struggling to find the right place to connect it that would only be powered if the engine is running. Has anyone done this in the past? Does anyone have an idea on the best place to connect the light?

Do you have the factory installed remote start? If so, the green light on the remote shows that the car has started. I don't like the fact of no lights on the car as it starts (Acura calls it "stealth mode") and to me it's pointless. A thief would not be able to steal the running car without the keyfob anyway. As for a 12 volt power source with engine running...maybe try the fuel pump circuit?

Yes the green indicator on the fob does tell me the car has started but when it is - 25F base temperature, I try to start it twice. I just want to be able to look out of the second story window and know whether it is still running or not. Thanks for the info.
