2016 RDX remote start
So I picked up my new 2016 RDX Tech package this weekend, and couldn't be happier so far. I'm researching remote start offerings as I live in the cold upper mid west, and I've found the installation instructions for the acura remote starts for 2016 are plug and play with no wires to cut and splice. However....they also only have a range of 300-400 ft which has been pretty typical of my experiences with OEM remote starters. On the other hand, the Viper remote start that my family has on a Rav4 reaches over half a mile, and works through many building walls.
So my question is....does anyone know if any of the aftermarket companies are offering a remote start that works with the same plug and play architecture that the Acura one does?

I don't have an answer to your question, but my question is why would you need a range of half a mile at all. You wouldn't park your vehicle half a mile away, would you ...... in case the weather so bad and you need the remote starting feature activated ???

I'd be happy with a remote start that would go a few hundred yards through office walls and windows, only I've never seen an oem solution that could.

I know this will sound funny to you, but it is worth a try. When using your remote start, touch the remote to your head when pushing the button as it can extend the range. I saw this on you tube and tried it once with another car to see if it was true and it actually worked.

Lol....maybe it would work, but I think in this case I'll keep trying for a more technical solution.

I found the RDX's starter to be of too short a range. I was in the Costco the other day and it wouldn't start. I used to start the Civic from inside the Costco all the time. It's kinda pointless having to start the RDX when I'm already outside.

I once started my Honda, with aftermarket starter, from inside a mall. For us Canadians winter can be really cold, like last year, and you want to warm it up far ahead of time.

Exactly. I really prefer the range of an aftermarket starter, but was hoping I could find one that had adopted the plug and play capability of the oem starter.
