2016 Cabin Air Filter
2016 Cabin Air Filter
How often should a cabin air filter be replaced? Miles and/or time?
Is it difficult to change and is there a YouTube video (I have no mechanical abilities)?
I see a few different brands on RockAuto. Due to shipping considerations (I am purchasing an oil and air filter and all three ship from the same location), I am looking at WIX. One is WIX part number 24815 for $11.03 and the other is WIX part number 24815XP which costs $13.12. The latter seems to filter out more elements. If I should replace the Cabin Air Filter, is WIX a good product?
Thanks much!

Replacing the cabin air filter is probably one of the easiest DIY tasks you can perform. Takes minutes. I have used WIX in the past and they are quality products. Follow the MM for replacement. You could always pull out the old one to see if it is time to replace. It is a cheap fix and controls the amount of good/bad air you will be inhaling inside of the car:
Yeah, it's the simplest thing to do and doesn't get your hands or clothing dirty. Why do you think it's difficult?
I change mine yearly. But it's also on the Maintenance Minder (#2).
I use Fram Freshbreeze because it's cheap, is carbon impregnated, and can be found anywhere and everywhere.

We do them every 30k but it's so variable...if you park under trees or lives in the sticks it's for sure a more often thing. Especially with mice being a problem, it's best to just check it every 10k since it's easy to access. Don't wanna be breathing crappy air while you're out cruising! Lol
Indeed on the crappy air. We once had a Civic, long before cabin filters. It needed a new evaporator/expansion valve assembly. The independant shop returned
the part to me. I would describe it as disgusting. Plugged up and moldy.
