2015 RDX AWD- Top Speed?

Looked around the web and seems like 135 mph?

Had mine up to 90 so far but still babying a little because she's new.

How fast have you gone and does it feel sure footed at high speed?

I'm not sure that many people are willing to admit to committing reckless driving in a public forum. In some states that is a felony.

Aren't there areas of the country with no daytime limits?

Are you guilty and get convicted for just saying you went above the speed limit?

I'm not suggesting reckless driving. Straightaway with no other cars, smooth pavement, legal, etc.

200 kph (124 mph) comes up pretty quickly so 135 mph should be within the realm of possibility.

There's a video on youtube of a first gen RDX accelerating to 130 (didn't keep going so that's not necessarily top speed):

The new one has closer gear ratios b/c of the 6-speed which probably helps top end acceleration, and with a bit more hp and slightly less torque, it would probably be about the same, maybe a bit higher. Definitely not lower though.

The real question is, how many people know what their tires speed rating is lol. Tires lose a ton of integrity once you surpass that barrier, and often it's much lower than their cars speed limit.

Good question S1V3R....looks like they are V-rated (max 149 mph), so we're good.

Incorrect. If you are running OE tires then the rating MUST be higher than the top speed of the car.

The OP on the video mentioned the Hondata tune and an intake. Even the base Hondata reflash boosts hp, and especially tq. Not sure what the effect on top end would be though. I'm not one to try!

^Yeah, you are right about that, Hondata claims 26 hp and 33 lb ft extra peak power.

And emsrph, don't know where that video was taken, not my video.

I saw your location as Philly...grew up there. Back then the Schuylkill expressway was referred to as the 'sure kill' due to its poor layout. The ramps were 'merge or die' unfortunately very short and extremely dangerous.

Yeah I figured that's what you were thinking! Honestly, I don't know that highway well at all, but I'll take your word and avoid it

It's a wrong wheel (front drive) based mommy mobile, not a sports car, LOL! From what I'm used to it, it's avg acceleration at best. If you are going to modify, modify something that is faster to begin with, LOL! This car, front drive rears it's ugly head if you have to make an emergency maneuver...

Seems like this is the perfect venue.

I've done ~80 in mine.

C'mon to central Texas...we've got toll roads with posted speeds faster than that

I'll just say going from 80 to 110 happens in a blink!

negative ghost rider the tires on the RDX and most other cars made within the last 20 years are definitely speed rated to handle the max speed of said car. Which in this case is 135mph. Acura's tire speed rating for the RDX is V or 149mph...

Did 110 in mine but the vehicle felt VERY UNSTABLE, in my opinion due to the wind and its low weight. After that experience, never took it beyond 90

Mine felt like it was on rails at 125 mph. That was on a 2 lane country road.
Good thing you sold your RDX. It seems like it did nothing to your satisfaction.

I always thought that the Rdx is quite fast from 0 to 60 and very reliable

ps: I understand that no vehicle is perfect

Totally agree with no vehicle being perfect. The RDX is far from being that.
