2014 Rdx - 1st purchase!

After a couple months of research on various Suv's we decided on a 2014 Acura Rdx with Technology Package. In either black interior/exterior or white with beige interior, possibly a grey colored one.

I've narrowed it down to 3 dealers after calling various ones and asking for price quotes.
(I'm located in San Francisco, California if it helps)

Steven's Creek Acura
$35,996 + $3,619.94 = $39,615.94 OTD Price
(Sales Tax+DMV fees)

Serramonte Acura
$39,450 ((Sales Tax+DMV fees included) +Enviroguard (Which I dont care for) OTD Price

Hopkins Acura
$35,996 + 8.5% sales tax = So roughly $39,604 ish?

Mike Harvey Acura
I'm waiting for them to respond but I'm sure they will price match also.

Can anyone offer some advice on my next step? I'm new to this and a friend said it's still a bit too much. I'm trying to get it to $36,500 or $37,500 OTD.
Or should I wait till July 4, and see if there's a deal then?

Birdyz - There are a few of us who have posted the cost paid for the 2014 RDX. When I purchased mine 2 weeks ago, the dealership was not willing to take much off of sticker. Do you belong to Costco or Sams Club? Both do a auto buying program. I was able to get my local dealer to come close to the Costco discounted price, even though they were not accepting the Costco car program on such a new car.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rdx-2013-2018-404/2014-pricing-thread-885302/ This will give you a baseline what others have paid. I waited closer to the end of the month as the dealership wants sales. Do you have a trade? Don't tell the dealer you have a trade until you get the price for the car where you are comfortable with, then spring on the trade. Either way, a dealer will play the number game with you. Don't be afraid to walk or ask the dealer to include accessories in the price.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes, I checked that thread earlier after I posted. Most users on their purchased the Rdx without Tech except you. I have my eyes on the Rdx with Tech package. Both my dad and I belong to costco.

The tech package gives you more options for the vehicle. I wanted HID lights, fog lights, TPSM system, power tail gate and all the other extra features.

http://www.acura.com/Features.aspx?m...Compare+Models Shows you a breakdown of all the available options.

Tech or no tech comes down to personal preference. I knew prior going to the dealership that I wanted the tech package.

Go on Costco's automotive site and enter your zip code for the discount. Even if the dealership you are working with doesn't participate in the Costco discount program, show them the savings you can get and use this as leverage for the price.

Good luck with your RDX purchase. I can't wait to see the photos.

Birdyz - I assume this is FWD vs AWD? I am also looking at those same dealers and so far the best I have got is $37,600 for AWD Tech for 2014.

You might want to look into the 2013, there should be better deals on them and hardly any difference.

Just for fun see what their best lease deal is. The reason I say this is what I am seeing if you add the down payment monthly payments and the end of lease buyout amount, total them and compare to their OTD offers and I bet you might beat them with the lease. What this does for you is give you a free three year test drive, plus future leverage with the dealer. You can't do this with a Mercedes, BMW, etc. but from what I am seeing you can with the Acura ILX, and the RDX.
