Need some help with this one. I have tried CLR, Bartender's Friend Paste, Windex, Spray 9, Denatured Alcohol, etc. Still, this haze takes over my windshield when my wipers operate. I have also attached a picture with my defroster turned on and you can see this scale pattern forming, which is the exact pattern that is on my windshield. Vehicle is a 2014 RDX and this is my 2nd windshield (first one took a nasty rock). The windshield was perfect when I got it less than a year ago but after this winter this haze is back with a vengeance. My OEM windshield did the exact same thing with the hazing/scaling. Any suggestions on what is causing this and how to remove it. I should tell you that my wife a 2017 CRV whose windshield is perfect and she parks in the same driveway.
Do you think the Rain X will help prevent the formation of that pattern? It almost seems like water is sticking to my windshield after the wipers make their pass

Looks similar to wax from car wash on windshield. That causes wipers to haze the windshield.
Are both cars washed the same way? Did you try a solvent to get rid of a wax buildup?
Yes they are washed the same way, however her car does not get washed nearly as much as mine (maybe 1/10 of the washes that mine has been through). I do use some type of wax/wash soap (Turtle wax or some similar type brand) when doing my entire car so maybe that has really built up on the windshield. I am very perplexed by the situation though, as I have used CLR on my windshield and that is some pretty potent stuff. I used de-natured alcohol on my windshield but that is the strongest I have gone so far with solvents. I didn't want to use anything too powerful at the risk of damaging the windshield. If you have a recommendation for a solvent that will not damage the windshield, I will give it a shot.
I feel like my windshield at this point is definitely clean and the water seems to almost be sticking to the windshield in that haze pattern. I am tempted to use Rain X just for the heck of it and see if it makes a difference or changes the pattern on the front windshield. If it does change or help the pattern then I know it is an issue of water sticking rather than something being on my windshield that I can't remove.
Suggest you clean windshield with a cleaner that will remove wax buildup such as used to clean floors. Maybe something like Varsol or similar. Maybe bug and tar remover.
Try on a small area of the windshield out of the line of vision with a cloth or paper towel dampened with the wax remover so it does not run into unwanted areas.
And keep it off the paint finish or you will be re-waxing the car.
If it works, use it on the rest of the glass.
I can`t think of what else would cause the issue and I have seen it myself on my own vehicles and regular glass cleaners do not take off the wax build-up..
Clay bar could help,,but to add,, I use 00 Steel Wool and that will clean in down for sure. Might sound scary to some, but you can google it, Stuff works great,,no scratches.
I wouldn't be to concerned with the solvent on the windshield glass itself, as it is glass and there are not to many things that will eat/etch the glass. I would be more concerned with the cleaner damaging the paint, plastic parts, or seals/gaskets around the windshield.
Update on this - - I went ahead used Rain X just for the heck of it and replaced the wipers... So far so good! I have not had the water form in that weird haze since I applied Rain X. I will keep everyone updated as I continue to drive more in the rain.

So after 1 month of driving in the rain / wet conditions, I can say with 100% certainty that the Rain-X did the trick. My windshield is flawless! Thanks everyone for the help!
