wipers cause streaks

I don't know if this problem is specific to RDX but it's the first car I've owned in more than 10 years so I have no idea.

I was driving from VT to NYC today in heavy rain and the windshield wipers were leaving streaks which disappeared several seconds after the wipers passed over the glass. Does this mean my windshield is dirty, the wipers are dirty, or I'm using crappy washer fluid? I tried cleaning the wipers when I got home, hopefully that helped but i don't know yet. Any ideas?

I have only put 4500 miles on my RDX and have to agree the wipers are pretty poor I'm likely gonna replace them soon. This is the first time I have ever gotten bad wipers from and factory car...depressing.

I don't know if the wipers are bad, because I've used PPG Aquapel on my windshields and Rain-X wiper fluid to keep the protection. The regular Rain-X on the windshield always made the wipers "hop" after a while, and the Aquapel has not. Works for me.

My wipers were streaky after about a month or two of ownership. I took it to the dealer and asked them to look at it, and they replaced them for free. That was just over a year ago and they have been great ever since.

I've had my car almost a year and the wipers work great. If you do decide to get new blades, keep the old ones just in case you ever want to switch back. You can replace the rubber inserts for about $6 each, new blades are closer to $30.
