does anyone know what is wrong with my transmission. when I am driving on the freeway and in 5th gear ,my rpms will jump up alittle and back down when I am cruising. like from 2100 rpms to 2500 rpms and then back to 2100 rpms for no reason. and also sometimes when i am driving and barely stepping on the gas pedal and my car is shifting from 1st to 2nd gear my whole car will shake like it is missing a shift or something. I have been reading stories about trans problems and wanted to know if anyone has had this problem or is my trans just going out.

Unfortuanately it sounds like the trans is slowly going away .Stop by the dealer and have them check it out.The rough shift is the real indicator that she is getting ready to pack it in.

Just get ready for the 'there is nothing wrong with your tranny .. we can't reproduce any of the problems you've mention' BS story that Acura services departments are programmed to say.

 

I got that same runaround countless times. Just keep documentation of every time you bring it in, and file a complaint with the BBB if you have to.

 

Thanks Jen, for your the help and your insight. I am afraid after my 30K service I am feeling a rough (weird) shift from 4th into 5th similar to 916CL. It looks my tranny is going out.

916CL: Most dealers are awared of the issue and are quiet helpful, Talk to Red Rider in Sac to recommend a dealer for you, I believe he goes to Nielto (sp?) Hope this helps.
