Transmission Flush Q's
Transmission Flush Q's
I did a search and didn't find anything that answered my question. I really want to do a complete transmissiion flush soon. 2-3 is shifting hard and I can can notice 3-4 occasionally. I had My transmission replaced at at about 94k and I am at 136k, so I am well out of the warrenty range. I am wondering should I take it to the dealer to get it worked on or will any other shop be just fine?
I asked for a quote on my 97 3.0 cl and they said it would be about $250. I noticed that my level was at the min mark and i suspect that there is a leak. as a consequence of the low fluid level, shifting is rough and oftentimes slippage occur. After the stealership told me that it was 250 bucks, i went straight to a honda not acura dealer and bought a quart of ATF for $6 and brake fluid for $5 while i was at it. I guess they use the new method of flushing the tranny in the dealership cause they hook it up to a machine. imo, the dealership is the best place to go to if u cud afford it. if not, buy genuine ATF and let other shop do it for u if they do that coz i heard some shops wont put parts that was purchased somwhere else and i dont know if that is the same case with fluids. good luck.
Before you do anything, I suggest you read these first
