Hey guys I will probably be getting an '02 3.2 auto CL soon. It's in good condition and everything. Only has about 60,000 miles. My question is, will the tranny fail if I take care of the car? It's going to be my first car and I'm under 20 y.o so I don't want any car problems/ can't afford any car problems.

And also, is it okay if I put the cheapest (I think 89) gas in my car?

It was not necessary to post the exact same thread 7 times, so I deleted 6 of them and would appreciate it if you would lay back and get used to how this forum works.

 

Inside your fuel door clearly says PREMIUM ONLY
Why would you want to put anything less in there ?

If you can't be good to the engine,I doubt you will maintain the trans so obviously the trans will not last you either.

As to the transmission, the best pro-active maintenance is to do a triple drain and refill but that won't be any guarantee against it failing, as mine and many many others here on the forum have.

 

That is low mileage. I'm sure you've read about the trans failures and that's why you ask. I'd keep in mind that the trans will "probably" fail at some point and save ahead for it.
I just bought a one owner '01 CL with 104K (original trans). I knew it had a bad trans when I bought it. I did lots of research and found here that later model (04-07) TL, Oddssey and Accord v6 transmissions will work in the CL. Supposedly the newer trans is better. I'm swapping the bad trans for an '06 Odyssey trans.
