No they will not fit. Unless you don't plan on dropping your car at all, and you seriously roll your fenders. The lowest I would go for with 19's are +45 for an 8 inch wheel. For 8.5's I would get closer to +50.

19x8 +50 will not require you to roll your fenders, regardless of the drop.

But he will if he is getting 19x8.5 and lower than a +45.

I think KahRupt-CL-S03's old wheels were below a +45 and were 19x8.5's and he rubbed sometimes. I also think he had 225 series tires which probably made it a little better.

I'm pointing out to him that if he went with 19x8 +50 he would not have any problems. We've already agreed that his proposed setup is way off.

So basically with 235's 19 x 8.5 i could adjust the offset and i'll be fine?

Does anyone know what offset I should use to make these wheels fit without rubbing?

thanks

you're gonna plan on "adjusting" the offset yourself?

the questions that you asked have already been answered.

Yeah a few hours with a die grinder and you'll be set.

No really, wheels are manufactured with a certain width and offset. They cannot be changed.

So the answer is still

order a set of 19x8 +50 offset wheels and you'll be set.

I'm looking at Motegi MR7. The bolt pattern is correct but the rims and a +40mm offset. I searched Chod's FAQ and it's saying that for stock suspension, the rims need to be +42mm or better. Am I reading this correctly? If I go with a CT spring, what's my minimum offset?

What size is the wheel?

40 offset is probably too low, but if the wheel is only 7.5" wide you may be able to get away with it.

They are 17" x 7.5", and I'm thinking that I need to go +42 or higher to be safe. If I go with CT and tokico blues, will +42 be enough??

Yeah, you should be ok with a 42 on a 7.5" wheel.

Are they the new Comptech springs (same as Eibach pro-kit) or the original ones?

Original ones: +42 shouldn't rub too much - might have to trim bumper tabs
New Comptechs: You're definitely gonna rub - the drop is significantly more

You sure those are 7.5 inch wheels? According to the Motegi website they are 7 inches. Either way, 42 would be better, but if they are 7 inch wide, they may fit with a 40 offset.

You're right, I don't know where I got 7.5 from. I'm not going to chance it. I'll find something else

I personnally have 7.5 and +42 and they fit comfortably. 1/2 an inch is 12.7mm. Judging from mine i think 7.5 +40 would tuck. And as for a 7" inch wide rim your offset is pretty much wide open, with the xception of deep dish wheels. But then again there is the option of molded fender flares. Then you can have 10" wide rims with a low 30 offset which would be mega clean, But I personally choose against them to preserve the look of the car.

There is a significant flaw in your logic. When you slam the car like the one in your avatar, you throw off the geometry of the suspension. So instead of your wheels being at a 90 degree angle to the ground, they are angled inward causing them not to rub on the inner fender.

Instead of this |..| they look like /../

Now that's fine if you enjoy replacing tires every few months. If you used a camber kit and adjusted them back to OEM specs, they would rub.

Really? I've never had a problem with Ebay, but then, I've never bought rims/tires.

adding insult to injury - ebay should be your last resort for your next wheels and tires and motegi wheels are junk.

you're better of shopping at tirerack for some SSR/SSW wheels.
