Question wide rims??

Hey guys. this is my first thread here on the forum. im new to the whole acura scene. i have an 02 cl a/t. im trying to get some 19's on it and i was wondering, whats the widest rims i can up in the back? i have a set of 3pc rims but the back looks a lil too wide. i threw them in the front and its about a 1/4 on an inch away from touching the strut. now i can easily get a smaller barrell in the back since its a 3pc. i took a ruler and it was an 19x10. TOO WIDE. help me out pls.

omg thats way too wide you should stick with a 7.5 or 8 inch wide rim. dont go lower than a 42 offset.

My 8 inch wheels with a +45 offset are the widest I would ever think of going.

edit: DBlock, are those TL wheels I see on your SMR?

if i remember correctly, he actually has '01-'02 tails with the top portion tinted to look similar to the '03 tails. you may be able to find better pics of them if you search for his name or "stealth cl" in the photo gallery

yeah, i was just kidding bout that "stealth cl" part... I just searched and couldn't find jack. However if you search for tinted tails, you'll turn up a few closer pics of them.

Sorry for the

10" wide rims are definitely too wide. As mentioned above, 7.5"-8" are all you want unless you're making some sort of custom widebody kit like Essarak's CL.

is your car lowered? that would change people's answers dramatically.

1. Its gonna look stupid with 19's if you dont lower it.

2. Dont go much wider than 8".

19x8 inch wheels are your best bet. Stick with an offset higher than +45. And you should be able to run 235/35/19's with no problems.

What about 19x8.5 wide rims are so sexy! And has anyone ever done the staggered rims on our cars? would that mess up our handling??

The Axis version of these rims are supposed to fit our cars. I think these are one of the best rims for our cars...I dont see much people with wide rims on cls when they look so nice. If we can go 8.0 we should be able to go 8.5 with some type of alteration huh? i really hope so. if not i mean its only but the 1/2 helps the look.

I got 18x8.5 a-specs and the tires stick out about 1/8th of an inch in the front, so I can only imagine that 19s would be worse

i've ran 19x8.5 with a 44 offset of my 2000 accord coupe with no problems. i used a 225/35/19 tire and the car is lowered 2.2 in the front and 1.74 in the rear

never seen this thread before, just got my CL late last year but even in the past 8 months there has been tons of threads regarding wheel sizes and offsets with up to date information.

old threads = old information
new threads = new information

there is no need to go back 40 pages to correct an old post when there is plenty of new information available

what wheels did you have on your accord?

Just got my 19 inch Foose Speedsters in today and they sent me J8.5x19 ET34 (markings inside each rim). I ordered 19x7.5 +45. I'm going to try and send them back and get what I originaly ordered, but how do you guys think the ones I have will fit?

fender mods; stretched tires, and a lot of negative camber
