Want to stick 20's....

i wanna go wid some dubs. but i have a few questions:

1. how much do i need to drop the car to have it look moderate?

2. Will it rub? (20 X 8.5)

3. Is it worth it or should i stick with 19's?

thanks....

Use the search tool

20x8.5 won't fit without a very high offset ~+53

Stick with 19s. 20s in NYC is a big NoNo

All the CL's I've seen with 20's look awkward anyway.

The wheels look too gaudy.

They never really match the car.

Get some 19's.

And a shitload of custom bodywork to balance out the gaudyness, and fender flairs to cover them wheels as they poke out, and they are def not in NY.

i wanted 20s, but 2 local rim shops told me not to...and one of the shops had a guy that had a CL on 19s.

i went with the 19s, and sometimes they look too small to me...and could definitely fit another inch. i've seen several CLs with 20s and i think they're perfect!

just my opinion.

what do you mean "jacks up the car"? i have 19s and a big gap, which i know could handle 20s easily and my car is dropped. i've also seen 2 CLs in my area with 20s and not jacked up on stock body...they are on the floor...looks nice.

Wanna take some pictures of those CLs, please? Not to imply that I don't believe you, but... seriously, I don't believe you. 20s on a dropped CL as a daily driver is unthinkable

honestly, that looks good to me.... sounds like you're just trying to get the rubber under the wheel well. then you'll be battling rubbing issues.

what kind of wheels are those?

<---- Will be getting 20's at some point, and I already know what wheel and what size tire will fit w/o rubbing problems. They ARE NOT ghetto looking either.

I have 20's on my CL-S. It does go past the fender, about a quater of an inch. Which I'm sure in other peoples minds in ghetto fab, but shit I got 20x8.5's on the CL. I do have to agree that it does take away from the sleekness of the car, but when you putting on aftermarket chrome, your not trying to be sleek anymore. If you were, you'd rock 19's or 18's, painted to match or something. My two cents, is that if your putting on chrome, the bigger the better and there really is no difference between 235-35-19 and 225-35-20, for peeps in NYC. I drive the Nitto's225/35/20 in Boston and its cool. Do the twinkies, and if you happy rollin on em, thats all that counts.
