Quick question guys!
Hey guys I know you're all tired of "will these whes fit my car" but will these wheels fit my car? I suck with all the tire sizes and offsets and stuff. I would appreciate if someone could just tell me lol I have an 01 cls. The stock wheels are 17x7 +55 with 215/50/17 tires. The wheels are 17x8 offset +45 with tires that are 225/45/zr17. Thanks guys I appreciate it.
OP it really depends on the rims I'm running 17x8 +45 with 225/45 17 conti sport contact2 and all I had to do was trim the tabs but know of other running same size that have had to do more. either way it should not be a big deal.

This rubbing happened to me: I replaced it w/ 17X7 +42 wheels, 225/50/ZR17 tires & it extended about 3/16 beyond the fender wheel well. Right now, I am planning to have the mounting pads of the wheel milled down to at least 8mm to offset the wheel further in. And eventually when it's time to replace the tires, I'll go back to 215/50R17.
This is what I've calculated on your situation: going from +55 to +45 offset = 10mm. Going from 215 to 225 = 10mm. 10mm/2= 5mm. Add these 2 numbers give you 15mm (.590 inch). This is how much further your wheel/tire combo will extend out from what you have right now. One thing that may save you from rubbing is the 45 series tire has an OAD of 25 inches while the 50 series has an OAD of 25.5 inches. This difference may just be enough to clear.
