looks pretty good minus the blacked out black trim haha

even with the stretched tires and fenders rolled you'll probably still need to run some negative camber but it'll look pretty hot

you should be fine running almost stock camber specs as long as you run 225.

thats a pic of my wheels with a 10mm spacer added.

so that gives you an idea what a 19x8 +40 would look with a 225 tire on it.

didn't know you ran spacers ross. anyways roll fenders, negative camber and 225... 8.5, so it'll stick out 3mm

used: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

so its going to be pretty flush =D

ya dude, its gonna be fine. remember 3mm is like 3 dimes stacked up. thats nothing you cant squeeze in there!

just remember to get a stretch friendly tire. ask B about what tires are good for stretching. some tires like my 225/35 falken st115's are desirable for their stretchy look even when they are in standard fitment. mine actually look a little stretched, but in reality they are proper fitment for a 19x8 wheel on our tires. the sidewall/rim protector design has ALOT to do with how the tire looks when it is stretched.

here is a comparison pic of kevins goodyear F1's (not good for stretching)
note the rim protector/sidewall design.

vs.

here is another pic to show the "stretched" look when in fact it is the correct tire size, but just the sidewall playing tricks.

hope those posts help.

So are 225s on an 8" wheel a stretch? Or does it depend on tire design?
toyo t1rs?

t1r's are a good stretch-tire candidate imo...but...after havin em for 4 or so months im not super impressed with their performance, not to mention they arent cheap. im not super stretched but they appear that way...and im runnin a 235 on a 8.5...i def would go with 225 though and not the 215

i guess what i was trying to ask was if the 225 is a "correct fit" regardless of whether the tire has a rim protector or not.

dont know if this will help u at all since im runnin a 235...so disregard if it doesnt...but what can i say, im feelin helpful for some reason...

not real stretched lookin...so 225 wouldnt be much more

so even with a 235, i feel like im sittin pretty close to flush. i got a +45 also

p.s. - sorry for the big pics, just thought itd be easier to see

some say the 235/35 is the correct fit, and some say 225/35 is the correct fit. the fact of the matter is that those two sizes are so close in dimensions that its all a matter of personal preference and what your wheels offset/width specs are.

with my wheels i could get away with 235 width tires, but i like the look of a mild stretch when slammed so i went with the 225 route.

general rule of thumb with 19" wheels on a CL=

if you want to run a CONSERVATIVE fitment then you want a x8 width wheel with a offset in the HIGH 40's to LOW 50's ie. 48-51. for tire selection, if you want to stay conservative and have good ride then go with 235. 225 isnt going to be really noticably rougher, but you should know that you have less rim protection from curbs/potholes etc. the lower the offset(45ish) the more you are going to want to look at 225 series tires. if you can find wheels in an offset of 48-51 then you are 100% fine running the 235.

hope that helps.

It helps. Thanks for your reply.
I actually went with 18s (x8, +45) that are sitting tireless in my house and I have my eye on the T1Rs (225/40). Still not finalized on my decision yet though.

Just wondering, now that the falken st115s are discontinued, what tires are you planning on running next?

damn i didn't know you ran spacers ross. i picked up some AMEs 19x8 +50 offset. i woulda gotten it around low 40s if i knew it woulda been more flush. i'm gonna run falken fk 452s on them. my buddies run them and they can be stretched easily

edit: and if you get TE-37s get the time attack ones. they'll look good for your blacked out theme

honestly im not sure what tires i will run next. these have a lot of life left(gotta love that higher treadwear of the st115)

as far as the spacers go, i dont run them. they were just on for a test fit to try and figure out how aggresive i can go with my next wheels. what i used was actually two 5mm spacers that are used to clear bbk with stock wheels. plus with 10mm spacers you need extended lugs because when i put those on you could only spin the lug maybe 1x before it was already hand tight. i do like how it looks with the wheels sitting more flush like that though!

you should note that my fenders are rolled like crazy, and that fitment would not work without rolling the fenders and moving the bumper tab.

im off to bed, ill check back tomorrow.

your fenders looked the the "tab" is right against the fender wall... i've seen it on that japanese youtube video lol.

how'd you move your bumper tab

well the rims come with toyo t1-s 235/35/19, i guess i'll do a test fit before i decide on tires. i was thinking on using fk452 225 series...

Falken 452's All The Way. I Had 225/30/20's On 8.5" Wheels And 38offset And They Were Great For Stretch And Performance

19x8.5 +43 is actually a decent fitment. not too aggressive, but definitely will need some camber to clear. with 225/35 fk452 you should be ok... the tires are quite stretchy, but when stretching tires, just remember to over inflate your tires by about 5% because you're gonna be rolling on sidewall a bit.

i'm gonna be running the same size tire on a 1/2 inch and an inch wider wheel.

Streching tires looks great...but if you go too far looks like shit...kinda like a butthole (the tire) trying to squeeze out a rim....lol..

please tell me you are gonna pick up those 19" work varianza t1s in the black market. those are some sick wheels. but that fitment seems too damn aggressive for our cars

i want aggressive, sick of limiting myself with rims. all the nice rims have low offsets and shit.

yeah i'm thinking about it... but i doubt it'll go through...

do it!! lol. i wouldn't go any lower offset than that, but that is def. pushing the bar. tires would have to be 225/35 fronts and 235/35 or 255/30 backs...gl

pretty sure that ride was more about performance than anything else....

phil, talk to joe while you're car is still in the shop. you might need a roll and a slight pull on the fenders to get a 19 x 9.5 +36 to clear, but i'm thinking its doable
