You should spend some time doing a compare on tirerack.com. Read the reviews then decide if the tire matches your criteria. You really dont say what you are looking for in the tires so it is hard to recommend something. What is more important, outright handling, or snow traction, or ride, or noise, or tire life? Tirerack has all those ratings from actual customers.

Using this site, I went with Kumho ASX in 235/45 on stock wheels. My criteria was just an all around improvement over stock but they had to be farily quiet, smooth and long lasting. I didnt care about snow traction or at the limit handling as much.

Kumho are the least expensive, and not rated that well... (check tirerack.com)

But, here is a thread on the Michelin's and Yoko's -

I went with the Yokos (in the stock size)... I was going to try the Falken 512, but I've had Yoko's before, and I liked them, so I just got them instead....

When I bought my cl-s last year it came with fresh brand new Yoko's Avid v4s After a few months I had to replace them one by one due to bubbles . So I endup purchasing 3 Goodyears for $60 with about 80 - 90% tread left. I wasn't really happy with the Yoko's handling. Dry weather was great, wet weather wasn't that great. Not sure if tire pressure was correct. Might of made a little difference not sure. Me personally, I won't purchase them again.

I haven't had any issues with my Yoko Avid V4S tires. Had them for about 20,000 miles.

I have 2k miles on new Yoko Avid V4S's. They are a firm, quiet ride, great in the wet. Great specs - AA Traction, A Temp, 500 Treadwear, 93 Load Rating, V Speed Rating, 60k mile warranty. Best all around tire for the money.

Here are the reviews for the overpriced and inferior Michelin Pilots -
