now things begin to get interesting.

this race was against a turbo integra. last time i was here i would have lost this race. pulleys and new tires owned the teg.

this slip deserves to be framed, but i went faster...

Damn Teg had a doorhandle with your name on it, he hung in there like a trooper, or an angry girlfriend who just got the boot!

so, after the race was over my friend wanted to ride along on a run. he weighs about 180lbs and i'm about 195. keep in mind, my previous fastest time, by myself was a 14.67.

so we line up against a 300 zx tt. i had been gateshifting all day except for the first run, so i put it in ss.

...my friend said the nissan owner looked a bit surprised as we walked away from him.

14.32 @ 98.09

so, after that last run i was impressed. it seemed my car was getting faster. they were shutting down the track but they let me go one more time. i was in ss, temp was approx 77 degrees.

lucky me.

Damn it.... I am jaw dropped to the floor... seems that UR pullyes are worths their cents... at least 0.3s gain and 3-4 MPH gains... something like 2X CAI gain....

14.3s and your last best was 14.6s... :P

and as I said earlier CLS is best run-after-run...

Damn it! I am now jalous, can't UR guys hurry and get their asses on getting the CLS specific Alt pullye done ASAP! I need to get the pulleys in ASAP!

We are in mid June and Temp are still in the 50s

I need to be on the track soon to get some 14.3s slips...

no doom, not that $500

tw1112, the alternator pulley in the set did not fit the cl-s. some members are waiting for the replacement pulley before doing the install. i had mine installed w/o the alt. pulley, couldn't wait. so i only have 2 of the 3 pulleys installed.

damn, maybe i can squeeze another tenth w/ that alt. pulley, lol.

Hell yeah, man, nice runs! With all those mods you can now run right next to a stock 6speed.

you are correct, sir. in fact, here are the exact conditions of my car during that run.

- 2 gallons of fuel(or less), 1/2 super 1/2 105 octane.
- left roadlamp removed
- trunk stripped, spare etc.
- koni's on stiffest setting
- upper part of rear seat removed
- air pressure, f.- 28psi, r.- 44psi
- ss mode, 2500 rpm tb

and i think i missed the perfect 2-3 shift by 100-200 rpm. with another couple runs i could have had a 14.2X. i'll have to wait a few weeks to find out.

By that you mean stiffest in the rear and somewhat softer in the front?

no, firmest setting front and back. do you think there would be an advantage to running the fronts softer. if so , explain.

very nice times, did you gate shift to get the 14.3, i've read b4 that if you gate shift that you'll redline 1st but i've tried SS and it also redlined 1st...

By setting your Konis stiffer at the rear compared to the front, you can achieve a better 60Ft time via better traction as a FWD car tends to hunker backward as you accelerate out of the block. With the Konis at its stiffest setting on the rear, as well as higher rear tire PSI, the hunkered movement is minimized and you'll tend to get more traction in the front, thus better 60FT times, everything else being equal.

i got the 14.3 in ss mode, the car seems to hook up better. almost every time i gateshifted i hit the rev limiter between 1-2. so ss is great, i don't have to worry about the 1-2. and i didn't nail the 2-3 either, could have had another couple 100 rpms. the only run i did in ss, by myself, was the 14.3. i will run more in ss next time.

you can get higher into the rpm's gateshifting. but the #'s dont lie.
