G35 wheels on a CL?

Anyone know if these would fit on a CL...I know it might sound a bit weird to have infiniti wheels on an acura, but I love them, and would like to see anything similiar.

Can't. And by big ass, do you mean the small center cap that can be removed and replaced?

Also, would these wheels fit?

Yeah, I figured it would be a stretch, also considering the G35 is rwd - but I always liked the wheel styles and still want the factory look. Does anyone have any similiar aftermarket wheel?

What is the offset range for the 2nd gen CL?

On a 8" wide wheel, mid to high +40's, optimally like a 50 offset. You can get away with a +42 but thats stretching it and asking to rub.

right on. i had always thought there was no chance to have 18x8s w/o rubbing. so what series tire would be the optimal/largest to fit with that wheel?

I assume that your going to get these wheels/tires used? I bet you could find a knock off of something damn similar w/ the right offset for a pretty decent price through on of these mail order places...

Factory offset on the CL-S 17x7 wheels are +55. A 7.5" wheel with +42 is already pushing it. I'd say go at least +45 on a 8" wheel.

maybe its me but i llike my car to be unique, hence the word customization, i am sure that they would look nice but why would you want the same wheels that are on thousands of infiniti's, go aftermarket bro that way you wont have people saying to you "are those infiniti wheels?"

It depends on the offset. If it's about a 45, then it should fit. Lower than that and you're pushing it. It also depends on if you're dropped or not, and how low.

They will fit if you don't lower. Once you do it will rub.

I think 40 is pretty low with a 18x8 wheel.

Firstly,
I don't understand why you guys are so afraid of a little rub. So roll your fenders if it rubs, as long as it doesn't rub on the inside, it's fine! Run slightly narrower tires, so that they stretch on the rims and it'll be fine. I'm amazed by the different attitudes of Honda/Acura and Nissan owners. On Nissan forums you are encouraged to run as low offset as you can possibly fit on the car. I was running 17x9 +20 on my nissan with about 1mm clearance on stretched 235 tires.

Secondly,
I have personally seen a CL with G35 rims on it. It was stock height, but the rims fit without any problems, i'm sure once the owner would lower it, he'd have to roll the fenders (1 hour job with a fender roller), but he DID run those rims and they DO look good.

Optimum offset: 18x8 +50 with 235 series tires with any drop you want. +40 is not even in the right ballpark.

FYI: Bolt pattern on the G is the same as the Acura 5x114.3

Why? Because it's To me there is nothing worse than seeing a nice car with rims sticking way outta the wheel wells. It just says "Hey I'm too stupid to understand the idea of offset"

I don't think we ever said to run anything less than what makes sense. But why get something that requires you to modify body panels. To me the word "fit" means I don't have to take a baseball bat to my fenders.

I too am amazed at how different the attitudes of Nissan and Acura owners are. I seriously hope you're the only one.

1.You can't roll the front fenders for Acuras. Have you seen them? There's just nowhere to roll. I was able to get mine "rolled", but all it did was make more space in between the wheel and the well.

2.It doesn't matter if you roll/shave/cut your fenders if the damn wheels stick out of the fenders. No amount of rolling will get your wheels inside the wheel well.

Are you guys really that ignorant? No one says anything about baseball bats, I own an Eastwood fender roller that does 0 damage to the car, all it does is just push the lip up a little bit to tuck it out of the way.

Do you think these cars are ghetto? because i can assure you they have rolled fenders.

I do realize that it's a complete difference in opinions, but IMHO having flush wheels is much nicer than having sunken battleships. Besides, if you know what you're doing you can make any wheels fit.

With regards to people not understanding offsets, I get the same reaction when people are running really high offsets on cars that deserve so much better.

1. You CAN roll front fenders, just requires a bit more modification, and I don't know how you were rolling yours, but clearly you weren't doing it right.

2. Rolling fenders severely results in a fender pull, and yes, it DOES in fact get your wheels inside the wheel wells. So why write something if you don't know what you're talking about.

here are some more pics of rolled & pulled fenders:

LOOK THEY FIT!!!!

If you are still not convinced, the rear fender on this car is pulled, the front just needed a roll.

Time for sleep,

I don't want to be a prick or anything, but after going through some of your posts, I can hardly say that you have experience with modifying and working on cars. I am a newbie on this forum, but it does not mean that you can throw in insulting remarks in regards to my opinion because an opinion IS just an opinion.

Cheer up and be happy.

You seem to be the one throwing insulting remarks. I've been happy this whole time.

You seem to be missing the point of all this. G35 wheels aren't going to fit on a CL. It's not really a matter of opinion or taste if this guy gets the G35 wheels, drops the car, and rubs like crazy just because he's driving on a normal road. It just doesn't work.

Edit: I misspelled road

1. I got my fenders rolled @ a respectable shop. You speak as if I did it @ home with a baseball bat.

2. Seriously, if the wheels go beyond the fenders, how is rolling up a portion of the fender going to get the wheels back into the well?

1. You've never done it yourself, so please see the explanation below.

2. I already explained this, but I'll explain it again. Rolling a fender is used when a tire is rubbing on that tiny 1/2" bead on the inside of the fender. It rolls it up, so that you can run a tire closer to the outside fender.

In a case where a wheel sticks out, here is my car as it stood last summer:

If you take a look at the rear wheel, it actually sticks out, just to show you how much it sticks out, here is a more accurate pic:

With the use of this tool:

I jsut rolled the bead, it pulled a tiny little bit. I also ran 235's initially on a 9 inch rim, the tire went in under the fender on an angle. If you notice VIP cars, they all run huge size rims and smaller width tires just to be able to clear the fenders.

it's partially because..... as the suspension compresses and the wheel goes up into the wheel well, the negative camber increases and the top of the wheel tips in toward the car.
