No problems here. I've got the Comptech/Eibach springs in and I'm running 03 CL-S wheels w/ 235/45-17 Toyo T1-S. No rubbing issues at all. I do have my struts dialed up pretty stiff though.

i don't understand how you could be rubbing.

i ran 235/40-17's on stocks with H&R race springs (2.2"drop) + koni's on the lower perch. that = 3" drop.

never rubbed, ever.

He says stock tires but doesn't specify stock wheels I agree - if everything else is stock, it shouldn't rub unless there's something else going on.

Stock rims should not rub ever with stock size tires. Maybe your shocks are gone? Something bent, or you have a freak of a car.

Those should be fine. That's the stock size for the CL-s. Here is the spec page for the CL.

hmmm, what could be wrong? Its killing me, I asked in another post and they say i can't be rubbing but i am. Should i take it to the dealer and get it checked out? Btw, i have Eibach pro kits and a pretty big system in my trunk (if that makes a difference).

215 is the width in millimeters. 50 means the sidewall height is 50% of the width.

edit....what MattG said.

The 215 is the width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall. The 50 is the aspect ratio, whis is a ratio of height to width. So the height of a 50 series tire is 50% of the width.

You drop may be too low, and with the system, could be causing it to rub.

Your new tires may have a wider tread face than stock.

Different models of tires, even from the same tire company, have different tread width even if they are all labelled 215. Some have rounder shoulders, and some have squarer ones. Just go to a tire store and line up a few models of 215 tires side by side. I have seen the narrowest and the widest can differ by 1/2 an inch in tread width.

sounds like the tire sidewalls are too wide, esp if you rub when you turn...the system in the back does not explain the problem comletely...

Any pics?

what brand are the tires?

If you have stock wheels and those sized tires, with a drop, it might be the bumpstop you are hitting, not really the fender rubbing on the wheel. There are a ton of guys running slammed cars with stock wheels and 225-235/45/17 tires. I personally am running 235/35/19 tires on RonJon Wheels 19" x 7.5", 50mm offset slammed on coilovers, barely 1 finger gap, never rubbing. Also, if you are too low, it might be scrapijng that is making the noise, not wheel rubbing.
