Comptech Sway to Progress.. Anyone do it??

Just like the title says, I'm wondering if anyone has gone from the Comptech sway to the 24mm rear Progress sway bar.

And if so, what is the handling difference.

Second, how much bouncier/stiffer did it make your ride compared to the Comptech.

I'm thinking of switching out but want to get some input before spending the money.

Thanks

I want to say that the Progress RSB is only 1mm thicker than Comptech's. Unless you really drive your car, I don't know that you'd feel too much of a difference.

I did. If your comptech came w/ rubber bushings, then just get some polyurethane bushings to replace them with. The Progress bar cornered a bit flatter and made the rear rotate around easier, but I believe the main differences in stiffness for street driving are the bushings.

I already have Poly Bushings in the rear, I picked up a set when I bought the Comptechs.

So it seems that it really isn't worth it. ah man

Yeah stay with your Comptech then. I felt that the switch to polyurethane on front stock sway bar helped w/ turn-in if you are looking for a easy handling mod to try.

Oh on the front?? I only put the poly bushings on the rear.

I can't remember all the specs and don't feel like doing a search right no-w.

CL-S Sway 18mm rear stock??
Comptech 22mm rear??
Progress 24mm rear

I mean, that 2mm difference on the Comptech to Progress should make a pretty big difference if the 4mm difference on the stock to the Comptech felt huge to me.

I used the 22mm energy suspension bushings for the rear.

Here is the link, they are the greasable ones.

I was pretty sure the CT rsb was 23mm? And I believe stock was 19mm and hollow.

I guess that's what happens when you don't use the search function.

18mm might be the premium sway
19mm for the Type-s then

Hm, if it's 23mm vs 24mm for the Progress, I'm even less inclined to make the trade-off.

Yes, I'm using the stiffest setting.
The Comptech is 22mm as seen here: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Comptech-...-pr-45226.html

Ah damn Monkey, now you're making my decision slightly harder again.

Do you have your car lowered?

Did the ride become very harsh after putting on the PSB?

Progress is 24mm and adjustable. On the firmer setting and with the 2mm larger bar you will see a difference.

Ha, Civic, you want to go halves, I'll give you half the money to try it out and get it shipped to your place. You put it on and let me know what you think.

If you like it, you can just give me the $80 back and keep the sway and I'll buy my own.

If you don't like it, you can just sell it and we'll split the lose.

Not a bad way to defray the cost of this mod being unsure if it would be worth the money.

My suspension set up is kinda similar to yours. I'm running Illuminas, Tein H-techs, and 235/40/18s. I wouldn't say the sway bar had a noticeable increase in harshness,at least nothing like the difference from going from setting 3 to 4 on the rear illuminas for instance.

And I still don't think you will get much of a real handling difference on the street by going Comptech to Progress w/ both running polyurethane bushings. Also on wet or icy roads I wonder if the stiffer setting on the Progress would be a good thing anyway?

However for peace of mind, maybe ya gotta get the biggest/baddest as I did at the time. Hey, I hear Neuspeed had a 25mm race rear sway...

x2, my car was already a little tail happy, with just an eibach rear, so i added front urethane bushings to try and make it not so tail happy, cause sometimes i don't like being the most attentive at driving , mainly if i am tired/long day or something, so i rather have it be on the safer side especially for a DD

But my taste in handling may differ from yours.

True True, but I think everyone wants their car to have less sway and be flatter on turns.

Think bout it this way, If it's like $150 for the Progress bar, you probably could sell the Comptech sway for $80, so you are actually only out $70 on changing bars.

Thinking of it that way, I might just pull the trigger.
