5Zigen Hyper 5ZR 2pc.

The Saga continues. Opinions on this wheel for the CL:
Good wheel/Bad wheel.
Thumbs up/Thumbs down.

I wouldn't pay that much for 5zigens.

Those wheels I don't really like on our CL's either; too edgy, doesn't really match the round lines of the CL.

I agree with sleep. Those won't match our CL's too well. If you want a more fitting 5 spoke at that price level, why not look into RJ devotions?

The 5zr's are getting kinda old too. I woulda definitely recommended them about 3 years ago, but not so much anymore...

I can't really decide if I like the devotions. RJ's wheels look good on alot of cars I see them on, it's just not quite what I want. I do like a 5 spoke design though. Some mesh stuff is cool. I'd like something that has a Race look and open spokes to show off a BBK. Bonuses would be weight, exclusivety, and a nice lip...but those aren't necessities. SSR Comp. R's is an example (although neither mesh nor 5 spoke).

Volks. They seem to be in the in brand @ the moment; good thing that they're a good wheel company

-I think someone on these boards has the 5ZR's in one piece; but I'm just going to re-iterate and say that for that price, the 5zigens are way too much. Especially if they're not even forged (can't answer that)

I really want some Volks, but you can't get them all that easy. At least not on the east coast. There's about 5 or 6 styles of Volks I like. One of them being the SF Challenges (silver or gm). Not sure if the GT-C's would look right. And they just came out with 2 new styles. Problem is going to be finding them, getting a RELATIVELY good price on them and then Waiting for them to get here. I know some folks have the hook up on where to get 'em. Don't be shy, share the wealth.

I never said you're "only allowed" to choose one. I just don't wanna bother with helping you figure out which one you want because that's YOUR decision, not mine.

I said figure out what you want, then let me know, so I can point you in the right direction as to where to get the wheels.

I'm grateful for the help Brian. My process of deciding what I want is complicated. I know the list is big so I feel you on the "helping me narrow my decision" thing. I didn't need the help there, I needed some info. You gave it. Thank you.

I beg to differ, I think the 5ZR's look great on the CL, it gives it the aggressive look, but maybe I'm just a tad bit biased...

Hope this helps in your decision...they look even better in person...

I realize that it is a matter of opinion but what about the wheel constitutes it to "look cheap"?

I think the wheels are more suited towards the second gen GS400's. It looks cheap because of the high offset required on our cars -- the spokes have to bend inward to meet the rim, in order to create the illusion of a lip. Lot of those exel's and katana wheels have that look these days.

i don't even think they're really suited for the 2nd gen gs400 either; but even more so than just the high offset making the spokes bend inward - the point where each spoke hits the barrel has this awkward outward 'flare' that just kills the entire design. 5-zigen wheels are 'bleh' and to begin with - that and their 2-piece/3-piece wheels are over-priced and they haven't added a new design to their lineup for ages.

I like those wheels on 6th gen Accord couples; they match the sharp lines of the car really well

I think they look really nice. Sometimes knowing what name brand is attached to an item affects judgement. I'll admit, for the price I'm not so sure I want those, but to me they fit the CL quite nicely. As for the bending inwards...ehh, there are plenty of wheels that bend in, bend out, do wiggly bends...I don't know. I like hearing you guys' opinions either way, so don't think I'm singling out any one person or completely defending the 5zigzags either.

No, this hasn't helped my Final decision on spokes or mesh because now that I've seen them on a CL I KNOW that I like it. I'm very picky when it comes to wheels on my cars. Figure this...rims are the single biggest impact on a vehicles outward appearance when modifying. You can have killer paint all day long, body kits and whatever else. If your wheels are shitty, nothing else matters.
I'm very picky when it comes to this aspect. And since it's looking like I'm going to be spending a chunk of cash, I don't want to just jump on the first thing that looks good.

As it stands right this very moment, I'm a couple calls away from my choice and 2 back ups. Still researching until then though. Keep the comments coming in the meantime.
