225/45 18.....Will it fit okay?

Can anyone tell me if I can fit a 225/45 18 (tire) on my 01 CL-S and not have to worry about any rubbing during dips or hard cornering had 225/40 18 on my 97 CL but potholes just make me so nervous. Threfore I want to go 45 series on my 01 CL-S. Will it work?

You might try posting here... https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/ (or have the thread moved by a mod)

One of the tire guru's can probably help you out. Good luck!

are u lowered at all?

there's really not enough information to make a judgement call - but if you're at stock height - you're fine.

Yep I am stock all the way.......... but are u saying that if I got 225/45 18, that lowering the car could become a problem i planned on dropping it but only about an inch and a half to remove the gap. Reminder (for my 3.2 CL-S)

depends on the offset of the 18. mine only rubs when the suspension is compressed all the way on one corner. i have +45 offset.

Hey guys what about my question (this was my thread LOL) its all about me, me, me!!!

Will a 225/ 45 tire be to big, pay close attention to the fact that I said a 45 sidewall on the 18 inch rim stock suspension on CL-S. Tired of a 40 sidewall.

It would make a difference to me mentally because I have 225/40 18 on my first gen and I bent a rim; now since the 2nd gen is heavier i would just feel better with a tad bit more tire. Just want to make sure the 225 45 18 won't rub on the 2nd gen.
