XS Power headers making weird noise

I got my XS power headers installed in my 6speed 2 days ago. Im noticing a noise coming from them when im in 1st and 2nd gear around 3 rpms. I havent noticed the sound in other gears but that doesnt mean its def not happening.
Its hard to describe the sounds...its like a crackle...not so much like a snap or pop(lol). It only makes the noise onces per gear, its not continuous. It does not sound like metal hitting metal and it does not sound like a bad problem, the car runs fine otherwise.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem?
Would a noise like that come from a poor installation?

for the price of these headers Im expecting something to go wrong but not this soon

Mine are fine.

Did you install them yourself? I ask because I did and I found that it was hard to get the bolts tight enough by myself. They would leak a little when you first started it but once they warmed up, no leaks.

I love mine.

I know you have a differnt car but if your hearing it only at 3krpm then its definately from poor installation guaranteed. atleast thats what happend to me, the headers are touching something they are not supposed to . check it out agian at the place you installed them

I did not install them myself, next chance I get next week I'll go over there and see whats up.
I messed up on my first post, its more like 2 rpms not 3. Im not sure it that would make a difference but I hear the crackle when Im pulling out of my garage or in low gears.
Isnt resonance more of a vibration? If it is, its definetely not resonating.

Yeah resonace is a vibration/humming sound. If you had it would be very appearent. Mine have been fine also, & the install was back in November.
I'm not saying it's not the headers... it could be. I doubt it though.

I brought it back to the place where it was installed.... after a half an hour of looking into it the mechanic realized it is my axel making the noise, not the header. So now I need new axels

but on the good note everyone at the shop was complimenting the quality of the xs power headers

What side? How many miles you have?
Are the boots leaking grease? rip or torn?
Did it make this noise before you took it to the shop to install the headers? How many miles after you left the shop did you hear the noise?
Maybe the shop screwed it up?

Damn, axles are a bitch to replace. Is it just the boots are torn and need grease?

I hear it coming from the drivers side. I have have 71k miles. I found no grease so far, not sure of their condition whether its ripped or torn. It did not make noise before I took it to the shop to install the headers. I started hearing it about 5 miles after i left the shop. Im not sure how they could have screwed it up if they did
just another problem that might delay me in putting on the bodykit

dont use the supplied gaskets for the xs headers!! use the dealer gaskets and screws!! seriously!!! by the way if the headers are not installed properly it can be an air leak causing the headers to slightly shift with pressure and causing contact with something such as the oil pan, remove crappy xs screws and use the dealer dual thread bolts and solid tin gaskets not the crappy Xs cardboard ones...
