This morning, it was icing & misting, so I pulled the windshield wiper switch to wash it clear. But after that, the wiper & washer just turned on continuously & drained the whole reservoir of washer fluid. Plus, it kept on going non-stop, both the wiper motor & the washer motor. Anybody had this experience before?

Shutting down the engine completely & restarted it didn't clear this anomaly. I had to stop on the side of the road, pull the driver side panel off, & yank off the front wiper fuse in order to stop it.

Wondered if anyone have had this problem before? Wondering if it is the wiper switch or the relay unit that's going bad. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Could be either of those. Check both.

 

Definitely the culprit was the wiper switch. I replaced it today & everything is back to normal.
