Unknown problem?

Just recently, I have just started to notice that when I come to a complete stop, and I begin to proceed the exclamation point lights up and i hear the ABS humming sound? Do I have a problem? I read some other threads and they didn't really seem to have the exact problem. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Bald tires? The exclamation point is the VSA kicking in.

Naw man thats not it, i just had new tires put on her?? It makes the sound of the ABS pump sound when you first start driving, that what I learned from this site. But.. the exclamation point comes on???? You think I am harming something.

You might have low VSA fluid

faulty abs sensor possibly. or something to do with the VSA is intermitent... VSA works with the abs to gain control of the car so they both can affect one another. the beginning 2 times the ABS does it's thing it's checking to see everything works..

Sounds like the car keeps forgetting the abs is functioning right or wrong which is why u here it come on now and then intermittently

Hopefully whatever it is will not be a costly fix, or will even quit. Cause, like today it didn't even do it???

Allright, it seems this is only happening on like mild slopes, and sometimes right when i put the vehicle in drive? Again, it seems to be makeing the humming sound when the abs check occur's? Im thinking also that maby the a/c engageing has something to do with it? Any thoughts? Should i get it checked out?

Honestly if anything it's just a sensor working overtime because of some malfunction. But as for driveability there shouldn't be anything to worry about

Really...Is the sensors a expensive repair? What is a gyro sensor? Should I get the sensors replaced asap, or can it wait?

Abs sensors are fairly cheap and pretty easy to replace, Gyroscope sensor (main component of VSA system) is expensive - over $300 - but also easy to replace, it is sitting behind rear seat bench passanger site - just in the corner. I would drive with it till problem becomes permanent - pinpointing intermittent electrical problems is very hard, unless it leaves trouble code on ECM. One more thing - sometimes broken cv boot grease gets over ABS sensor and cause it to misread. Check your boots if they are not broken!

Finally!! I get a answer!! Thanks alot for your educated guess to what it could be. I bet it is one of the two things you mentioned, and am going to wait it out to see what it could be. I will post my update if I end up having a problem.

So I went to a certified import repair shop, and the (!) light never flashed or even came on the whole time the mechanic was in the car. The car was diagnosed and checked out fine. Mechanic said don't even worry until the problem become's permanent. Any thought's as to what this might be, CL owners? All thought's are greatly appreciated.

I would make sure you check all your fluids, if its an ! isn't that your brake light? if not I could be wrong ( I have a 6-speed, no VSA) but if it is for your brakes or something it could just be low brake fluid.

The (!) only comes on when the VSA is disengaged and if the wheel's slip while the VSA is on. All fluids are fine. The sound im hearing is the ABS pump hum, and the (!) lights up intermittently?

That's the same thing the mechanic said on the test drive. But the high tech onboard computer showed everything good. Where exactly are the wheel speed sensors? I will check them. On the side note, I just recently got new tires installed, and if I remember correctly it started after I had them mounted and balanced with nitrogen.

Got you Abs + VSA permanently lit? It has to be ABS sensor ( or wheel speed sensor - whatever you want to call it, its the same thing)

Look for it behind outer CV joint ( front ) - just follow the wire that is attached to upper control arm - and rear part of wheel hub assembly (rear )
