Throttle Position Sensor Availability 2002 CLS

As you guys know, Acura wants us to buy a $700 throttle body because a $25 sensor failed. In the past, Omnipower stocked the part. I called them today, and they no longer stock them. Is Acura behind this? And then I find that you can't even buy an aftermarket throttle body. WTF? This is a 12 year old car. I can't find a TPS anywhere. Does anyone know where they might be available. I'm not very happy with Acura right now.

Just do a Google search they can be had from several places for under $60.

Thanks, but I've done that to no avail. I can't find a TPS that fits a 2002 CL. Other years, yes. The one I need, no. If you know of a source, please be kind enough to provide a link. Omnipower still shows up as a source, but, as I said, they actually no longer stock them.

$700? That's insane. My local Acura dealer wanted something like $1200 for a timing belt job. I nearly told them to stuff it, and ended up taking it to an independent shop I have some confidence in. In the past, Acura seemed like a decent company when it came to repairs and work done on their cars, but lately they've been trying to make like Mercedes and charge a fortune for parts "because it's a premium car". Even the CL was designed to make Acura more money. Cabin Air filter? Gotta remove the entire glove box. My entire stereo head unit is bad and you have to take the entire center console apart to get the damn thing out! So much for DIY. I feel for you Mr. Thompson, and I'm sorry I can't be any help with your problem.

Thanks for the empathy Acid. It's insane that aftermarket parts aren't available for a 12 year old car. $700 was just for the part, not installation. I do use an independent mechanic, but the only place you can buy the part is an Acura dealer.
