Ever since I replaced the regulator with a dorman, the glass has been hard to go up and down, even locking up. Took it apart again today and could not get it to free up. The glass is in the tracks and I even lubed up the tracks. I'm assuming there is only one way for the regulator to be installed. Where the 2 bolts attach to the glass, it's an adjustable slot of about 1/2 inch vertical. The bolts are all the way up and won't adjust downward. Now what?
Probably worth another try at opening it all back up and loosening up the bolts for both the run channel mounting hardware and the regulator to window glass. install instructions are below, sounds like the key point is to make sure you get the rear channel bolts tightened first, then push the glass toward that; then tighten the regulator to glass bolts. front channel gets placed/adjusted last.
If you have some time before you do it' might be worthwhile to pick up some shin-etsu grease if you don't already have it. that stuff works great at lubricating these parts and rejuvenating the rubber.
