Exclamation Problems with my CL S

Hello all, I am pretty new here.
I just bought a 2003 Acura CL type S, SMR w/ Ebony and navi. 6 speed man. I have a couple of problems with it....
Problem #1
The power window on the Drivers side won't go up. I reversed the wires in the switch and when I push down it went up. I THOUGHT this would mean the switch was bad on the up side, but I replaced the switch and it still does the same thing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Problem # 2
It rained for the first time since I got the car yesterday. Passenger floor has about 2 inches of water in it. Any idea where the leak would be? It seems to be coming from some where low cause everything else is dry above. Where would you sugest starting to look around the dash area? Again PLEASE HELP!!!!

Problem 3
Camber..... Alignment shop say the kit will run $800.00 to adjust the camber.... This seems a little high to me.

Please respond if you would. Again... I am new so guide me if I do anything wrong.

Thanks Lefty

Not to knock anyone.... but, I was a member of a Mustang forum last when I owned the Stang. People seemed to be friendlier their. I have started 2 threads and many people have viewed them, but no responses.... Not even a hello and welcome. Am I doing something wrong by the Acura fans standards? If so let me know. Thanks

leftyzrevenge,

I have not had these problems and i am not a mechanic but these are my thoughts.

#1. I have no idea.

#2. Check your sunroof drain. I havent looked at mine before but usually the sunroof drain would run down the A-Pillar onto the ground. There is a chance this is clogged somewhere and backing up into the car. Or there is always the possibility that someone working on the car in the past accidentally cut the tube and didnt realize it. I would dry everything off. Open the sunroof and look for the drain hole. Get some water and start pouring it in, see what happens. it will either come out on your floor or on the ground somewhere. Again I dont even know if the drian flows that way but its worth a shot.

#3. That does seem a bit high. Find a good local garage and get a second opinion. Also check out Excelerates website. I have never purchased anything from him but everyone here has been very satisfied over the years.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c...s/c-10112.aspx

Good luck.

By the parts from Excelerate. It runs about $150-160 the parts. I had my local mechanic shop install the parts for $65.00

Just take it to an average joe mechanic or tire-rack and they will charge you far less. I can't believe they could even quote you that with a straight face.

He was able to find the parts elsewhere for a much better price

Are you talking about auto up or just going up normally?
either ways sounds like a very weird problem.

were u driving in the rain or was the car just sitting some where?

It could very well be the sunroof drain. Probably someone who worked on the car last might have pulled the hose off of the connecting piece in the pillar (where the water drains outside)
Check your door seals and the spot where the door harness goes in to the pillar.

Right under the carpet, there's a small seal, about 1.5" diameter that could have came out, but you if you really had 2" of water, i doubt thats the problem, the water has to be coming from the top then.

Thanks Lefty
A full generic camber kit is about 150 on ebay. Installing it is pretty easy if u can take bolts off. Alignment is about 80 to 100 at most.

Another quick question, was the car ever wrecked? which side is the camber out on?

Did you use it to add the camber or subtract it?

I added camber. When the car was lowered the camber was screwed. I will post pics of it this weekend when I get home. We are on a road trip at the moment. Wish us luck.... we are at the casino.

Did you buy the rear camber kit? I just put that on mine. I bought the Eibach kit and i havent even put 10k on them and the bushings are already shot . It did fix my rear camber problem though. Tires last longer than 20k now lol.

I bought the Eibach kit as well still have to get the front kit. I got a deal from a member here. When I had my Stang I never got more than 20k on a set of Z rated tires. I think it was realted to the way I drove it I am just going to let these wear out and get some new ones this summer. I am going to get the wheels powder coated black when I get new tires.

Fyi, the reason why I was able to sell the kit for so cheap was because I was able to somehow find someone selling it on ebay for 120. Since that was already $80 under retail price I figured I'd might as well post it for the same price I payed. All in all I only lost $7 from the whole thing and I was able to pass on the good deal to you

^I am glad you did. I am still working on mine daily. Seems like it will be a long road. Probably doesn't help that I lost my job today. Oh well, It will just give me more time to work on the car. lol

Just glad the wifey has a new job! Maybe I can talk her into buying a few parts.

Boss was a DICK anyway!

Hey honey how was your day at work?

I got layed off today....

You whaaaa!???

Yeah, I got layed off today, boss was a dick though. Anyway, it's all good now cause you can just do the work instead of me, that's what women are for anyway. Oh hey by the way, can you also buy me some spare parts for my car and work on that clogged toilet upstairs? Thanks honey, I knew you wouldn't mind....

She's cool with it. I guess I can use some time off. I will go back to work soon. I know alot of people in my industry. I work for myself on the side. I might just try to grow that into a full time thing.

Maybe I can get her to give me an allowance.
