Problems with the AC Compressor

When the A/C is on, the compressor makes a great amount of noise as if the bearing or some spinning component has gone bad. It sounds like a whine as if I have a SuperCharger on it when I give it some gas with the AC on. When its off, there is no noise.

How can I effectively fix this problem? The original owner has replaced the AC Compressor with a remanufactured compressor along with the accumulator at the end of 07. I wonder why it has gone bad again?

If I were to go back to the dealership to have it fixed, would my CL with 84,000 miles be covered under warranty?

Honda often puts a 1 year warranty on parts if they did the work. Did the dealer do the compressor change? You might call them and ask.

It's ether a bad belt or a bad belt tensioner. Likely is not the compressor.

Thanks guys, I've talked to a couple technician friends over at the ACURA dealer.

He said that there is a possibility that one of the AC lines have a kink or something in it, causing high pressure to the Compressor. Therefore, resulting with metal shavings possibly floating around in the AC system. This of course is the worst case scenario.

However, he also did say it could be the compressor clutch going bad.

If it was a bearing, he said the compressor would be making a slight noise even when the compressor is off and progressively gets worse as I put more of a load on it.

As belts being a possibility.. I am not sure..

i was gonna say it might be the clutch since it only happens when the AC is engaged.
