Problem with Starting after sitting for 7-10 days
Problem with Starting after sitting for 7-10 days
We have a 2001 CL Type-S with 56,000 miles and over the past year if we let it sit for 7 days or more, when we initially start it the car starts and dies out quickly. I can start it again by flooring the accelerator until it catches. This will happen the first few times until the car warms up.
After that and as long as I run the car every few days the car shows no problems starting.
I was interested in knowing if anyone has experienced this problem and if so what was the fix.
Thanks

The battery is fine and the engine cranks well. I wasn't clear in my first post but the engine cranks and starts right away it just doesn't stay running. It just starts and then quickly stops like it was running out of gas but the take is always at least 1/2 full so that is not the problem. And like I said before it only happens the first few times I start the car after it has been sitting. I can say it is definitely not the battery.
