Power Window Auto Up/Down Quit Working

'03 CL-S, 16K miles. Car sat in garage all winter. Decided to take it for a ride. Battery was dead so I put it on the charger for an hour. Car started okay but the auto up/down for the drivers power window does'nt work. Window goes up/down fine and all other electrics/electronics work.

I read the fix for a TL. Would the same fix work on a CL?

battery went dead so it lost it's memory, and iirc the exact same thing applies to the CL as on the TL (it is just a 2-door version of the TL afterall), basically you just gotta reinitialize that windows memory

Roll the window up all the way, hold the button in the up position for 3 seconds, roll it down all the way, hold the button in the down position for 3 seconds.

6MT or auto? Color?

If its a 6MT, let me know. Im in VA, its not a long drive for me if you decide to sell it.

then dibs on your car then, with every left intact (so the motor stays)

Thanks for the tip guys.

Specs- '03 CL-S 6 speed manual, Nighthawk Pearl (black), tan interior, nose mask and expensive aftermarket car cover. Garage kept, 16, 500k miles, serviced every 3K miles, never seen snow/salt, only driven in the rain 4 times, only time the back seat has been sat in is when I clean the windows.

I am located in Denver, NC. About 20 miles north of Charlotte on the west side of Lake Norman.

Who cares? It looks better without it IMO. The OEM navi is outdated now anyway, and I hated how the radio was still a seperate unit.

even though it may be outdated, it still gives you a possibility to use that screen for something else if you like (like maybe feed a couple of gauges via video to it , who knows)

but yeah not a deal breaker though

But then you get into integrated HVAC control hell. What Id really like to do is move my stock HVAC controls down where the radio is and put my radio up higher so I can see the navi better. Heres a crude chop:

The only thing thats standing in the way is the width of the stock CC. It may be a touch too wide for the space where the radio would be. Id use the navi bezel BTW to make the swap easier for me.

And HBusch, dont mind us. We're just debating the sale of your CL

but yeah at some point also, i need to move up flip-out radio upwards (and get rid of the stupid f***ing business card drawer thing) so i have room to mount stuff below it, in the radio opening (i would like to put the above the radio, but then it will just block it with the screen lol, so be kinda pointless) (i prefer to molest any stock parts as little as possible, such as the rest of the center console)

Similar to that but using the non-navi HVAC controls. I can move the HVAC and clock down, and keep the drawer.

i don't know if you fit everything down there though including a radio, all the while keeping that drawer though, you might have to lose the drawer, personally i don't have any thing in it, let alone never even seeing it, and pulling it out, so would not mind even losing the drawer

We'll see. It all depends on if the HVAC even fits down there. Im not worried about wiring.

Window trick solved the problem. Thanks again guys.

No Navi.

Not sure I want to sell it though. Driving it the other day reminded me of how much fun it is driving the 6 speed!

Nice to be here. Glad I found acurazine. You guys do amazing stuff with your cars! Gotta check more of it out.

Post pics when you get a chance. And definately post a pic of that odometer. JacobPockros will probably demand a CarFax report to confirm the mileage though.

Will do. Got lots of photos of the exterior/interior. I'll get photos of the odometer, underneath the car (as best I can), engine and calipers/rotors.

I just joined so it will be a couple of weeks before I can post photos I guess.

Lol, yea, they make you wait 15 days to post. Its BS.

Im not sure if you ventured over to the Off Topic area yet, but there alot of time wasters over there (mainly Ramblings; its a fun place but watch out for Stogie, he bites).

The Black Market is also there which is our classifieds section. They are setting up a new search and posting guidelines that should make it much easier to locate car specific parts.

You'll also notice the Second Gen CL Faqs in the general 2G CL section. Theres tons of info in there, and if you cant find it there try a quick search. Outside of the Black Market though, our search sucks. Lastly, dont be afraid to ask questions. Most of us here have experienced most of the quirks and problems that may come along, so we'll be able to help.

Haven't been to the Off Topic area yet. I'll have to check it out along with the Black Market. Been wandering the 2G CL Faqs.

With only 16K miles I'm hoping I too many quirks so I won't need to ask many questions.

Thanks for the welcome!

don't forget the 2G TL side either, since it is basically the same car, just two more doors, and no stock 6mt

but yes WELCOME too , maybe a little slow, but better then never though

and as far as that mileage, i think you might got Chicago6mt beat, he just picked up one like a couple of months ago with like 18k or something

np, but yeah you will see alot of the same people on both sides, since the cars are so similiar, but it is nice having seperate forums though, but also shitty in that you got to check both forums lol

but yeah if you put a tl and a cl up on a lift, you would not be able to tell a difference from underneath, except for maybe some clips being in different spots, then under the hood basically the same thing too, very minimal differences (which will be up near the headlights mainly; especially if said CL was an automatic)

also don't forget when looking for aftermarket parts, alot of 98-02 (6th gen) accord parts fit our cars also, since it is the same chassis between all three

The mufflers between the two are different

And yea, HBusch is currently the low mileage winner.

you know what i mean though, but yeah if you know the very small differences between the two, you can tell, just looking at it without looking for the super small details they will both look the same

and winner....., not quite yet, need to see a picture of the odometer still , then pm JacobPockros, so he can run a carfax report, and make sure it does not have any possible fraud with the odometer being rolled back or something

and once that mileage is verified, you should put it in your signature or something like "LOW MILEAGE KING"
