Adding lighting to interior help????
Im adding some led strips, white ones, under the dash to illuminate the floor when the door is opened. Which way is the best to wire these? to the lights in the door or to the dome light? the light in the door is only one wire green and orange striped. how does this work? Any suggestions. I dont want a switch I want them to come on when the doors are opened. Thanks for anyones help.

wire them to the light in the door. You'll need to take off the door panel slightly to see what color the wires are and then tap into the wires near the fuse box.
thats what I did to mine. I have a white LED strip mounted on each footwell that goes on when the door opens. I wired mine the way that only the side that has the door open illuminates, you can have them both open at the same time if you wanted or try the dome light. Maybe they will fade out :shurg:
I really like my footwells though.

Thanks alot, I tried going right to the switch in the door jam but the grounding on that is kinda wierd. Ill give that a try in the morning its getting dark and i dont want to try workin on electical at night. Thanks for the tip. Each side fusebox has its own door wire huh? ill see what color wires it is and do that. the dome light was a good idea and it has three lil tabs two power and one ground in front of the switch you can tap into but tryin to run the wires through the headliner doesnt sound fun.
